HI VJers...

just few questions regarding making an appointment at US Embassy Manila...

i have read some topics here regarding making an appointment without having to wait for the letter of eligibility from the Embassy...

i have received a letter from NVC stating that my petition has already been forwarded to the US Embassy in Manila dated April 5, 2011

its already April 18th in Manila... so my questions are:

1. can i make an appointment without having to wait for the letter of eligibility to reach my fiancee? considering its already more than a week...

2. if i can make an appointment... do my fiancee have to pay first on BPI or can i make an appointment first and make the payment later?

oh yeah... i cant connect to 1-888-877-9888 number on the call center... it always says my call cant be completed as dialed... im using US landline btw and also tried using my cellphone but it seems that i cant get through the call center....

thank you in advance for your help :)

you can make appointment even without eligibility letter, provided you have the manila case number that can be found in NVC letter. you have to pay first $350 before setting an appointment.

she can also have her medical exam even with letter. she can bring copy of nvc letter as substitute for eligibility letter.

much better if you can have your schedule of interview before having medical cause st. lukes will keep on asking for the interview date...

im done with my medical and scheduling of interview before the eligibility letter mailed to my house...

yes, I was able to make an appointment without the eligibility letter. You may email IVManilaReplies@state.gov to check if USEM Mla got your case. I think they will only reply if they already have it, they will also give you the instruction on what to do next, and it says there that there's no need to wait for the hard copy of the letter to schedule an appointment.

2. if i can make an appointment... do my fiancee have to pay first on BPI or can i make an appointment first and make the payment later?

The email says you have to pay first, but I was able to make an appointment online then make a payment the next day (last Friday). Contacted the USEM Mla call center today and confirmed that my interview is scheduled and my payment through BPI have posted already. I was also able to download the appointment page

oh yeah... i cant connect to 1-888-877-9888 number on the call center... it always says my call cant be completed as dialed... im using US landline btw and also tried using my cellphone but it seems that i cant get through the call center....

I think you can call (214) 571-1600, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. (Eastern Standard Time), but I'm not really sure if they can give you information where your case is since this is the number for scheduling interview appointments. Yet, you will always be able to get hold of someone. I assume yours is in Manila already because ours left NVC 4th April and I got a response from USEM Manila 14th April informing me they received it.

I was also able to download the appointment page --- I don't really encourage anyone doing this as it gave me a headache the whole weekend. I was worried because I couldn't download my appointment page, I'm not sure if it has something to do with not following the instruction. It was resolved by having a call center agent sent me a new password.

Hi there xoxohannah! I kinda have the same problem with regards to making an online appointment., when all of a sudden my log in session expired. I'm off to clicking the schedule button when it happened.I'm very much worried now and I don't know how to go back there again. What do I do now?Do I have to talk with an agent to clarify things? Thanks much!

Hello there Heroin. Did you get to the step where you were given a UID? If not, I assume it did not go through.

If yes, I suggest you click on this link and check your profile, you would only need your passport number and UID to log in - http://www.ustraveldocs.com/US-Philippines/UI/Search/ApplicantSearchParam.aspx . Once you're in there, you can see if your interview has been scheduled. Then try to download your appointment page, I suggest you do it using internet explorer (I couldn't when I tried using google chrome). If you're still having the same problem, like for example you were getting the message :Invalid passport no or receipt, then contact the call center and they will send you a new password.

yes, the call center agent will send you a new password to your email, it worked for me :) . you can also confirm with them over the phone if your appointment went through. I always call the 214-571-1600 number through google talk for free, don't want to call the Manila number and be charged long distance since I am in the Visayas :secret:
