Whats the MOST important the embassy looks at?

Thru this WHOLE k1-visa... What is the most important thing they look at when going thru youre packets? (besides having proof of having met in past two years and the on going relationship?)

PS ... I'm so worried about making a mistake or not giving the right information soooooooooooooo i have a million questions..

There's not a factor that is weighed heavier than the "only requirement" of having met the future spouse since financial mingling is not required etc. if i had to say though I would say the Affidavit of Support.

They are trained to respond to the totality of circumstances from the way the beneficiary speaks and dresses to having all of ones paperwork in order. Not all Consulate Officers are equally adept at this skill, yet it is their task to determine eligibility based on innumerable factors including intangible ones.

If you are honest, eligible, and careful, it is quite likely you should be granted the visa. Just have a look at all of us who have.

I'd say the key is to have all the paperwork requested! If they ask for form DS156, for example, they won't process you without this form, no matter how polite you are. If they're looking for 3 passport pictures, bring 3 correct passport pictures.

1 Having everything there is the most important as that'll be the first thing they cut you for.

2 Proving that you two know each other is the next step. Make sure all your answers match, you know everything about each other and most of all that you are genuine and not repeating pre-thoughtout answers.

5 Proof of ongoing relationship: further ticket stubs from visits, pictures, messages, e-mails, letters, etc...

4 Organization - I've read many embassy agents thanking a person for having everything in order and presentable - that counts. I'd also consider organization your appearance.

Finally - be polite the whole time. At the end of the day it's up to them, don't p*ss them off even if they are giving you a hard time. Take your time, think about the question, don't answer on a whim and don't be afraid to say I don't know (just as long as you aren't saying that for all the questions!!)

They want to know how well you know your fiancee. If he has a child, you will be expected to know that child's name, age and where he lives. If your fiancee has been married, know when the marriage occurred, when it ended, and the name of the woman he was previously married to. If he worked as a intergalactic policeman, chasing extraterrestrial bad guys around the solar system, you should know that too.
