Hi Everyone,

I have my interview coming up soon and I am getting nervous thinking I have forgotten about something I am suppose to take. I am sure this gets posted a lot but here is what I have...way over prepared

I-134 with transcripts, W2's, every kind of financial document imaginable, pay stubs, bank statements and employee letter (from USC)

Birth Certificate

Police Certificates

relationship evidence (photos, phone records, emails, skype, wedding invitation and receipts for upcoming wedding)

Letter of Intent to marry from (USC)

Copy of packet 3

Copy of every letter received from NVC, DOS, USCIS, and consulate

Am I missing something? Also, I have read a few consulate reviews from London and a few people have mentioned bringing a deed poll...I am not exactly sure what it is and I don't have one. Can someone please clarify.

Thank you everyone...I am sure I am being over prepared, but I would be less than impressed if I got there to find out I missed something out.

Sounds like you have all the same stuff I took! My interview was also in London.

Take your passport and make sure you are taking the originals of all documents! I met a fellow K1 in the Embassy and he was not approved at the time of interview for not having his original Police certificate. I took lots of finance stuff too but they only needed to see the employer letter)

Deed poll is how you change your name in England...I guess people take that if they got married and changed their name? Unless you have changed you name for another reason you shouldn't need that for K1.

They ask for your appointment letter when you arrive at the embassy at the security enclosure so have that handy! :)

Better to be over prepared than under prepared!

Take cash for the DHL courier!

Good luck!!

Here's what London says to bring (if it applies to you).

Birth Certificate (version with parent's names on it)

Adoption Certificate

Passport (with at least 8 months of validity left beyond visa date)

Marriage Certificate

Termination of Prior Marriages

Military Records

Affidavit of Support (I-134 and two good proofs of income)

Police Certificates

Court and Prison Records

Photographs (3 passport style)

Translations

Bring your appointment letter and visa payment receipt. Bring photocopies of anything you want back. The relationship evidence (photos, phone records, emails, skype, wedding invitation and receipts for upcoming wedding) isn't asked for in London. They seriously only want the documents on that list above.

This is what the embassy says about deed poll

If you use a different name from the one shown on the birth certificate, you must produce a document explaining the use of such a name. The documents are commonly available as evidence are:

•Baptismal;

•Deed Poll;

•School records showing early use of name.

Take cash for the DHL courier!

They no longer take cash at the courier desk. Credit or debit card only.

To OP. Yes you are more than prepared enough. Nothing more I can add than what has already been said. They didn't even take Crystals tax transcripts or W2's when I went on friday. Employer letter was enough.

It was a very relaxed interview.

Good luck

Thanks everyone :star: I really appreciate all of your replies. With regards to military records, that would be if the beneficiary was in the military not the petitioner...right?

I have originals of my birth certificate, police check, employee letter and some finance stuff. Do I need an original for anything else?

Thanks again
