12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I see nothing done unacceptably by Brad

Because there wasn't. Nothing more than a platform to attack some one (particularly some one who moderates you - and you don't like it).

Nope. 'lose her union card' to whom? The legion of fat, ill dressed, slobs that are American women?

Not from a mod, that is wrong.

Who says that? You are the only one making comments like that. Should some one report you, or just start a thread complaining about what a terrible misogynist you are? Do you seriously think this about American women?

He's joking about her losing her feminist union card. And the poster was putting that out there as well (I'm a feminist, but also a realist). Where is there anything offensive or even close to a TOS violation?

And furthermore, eekee actually got the joke and was not bothered a bit. Any one on VJ who acknowledges that men are visual/tactile creatures are sure to get into trouble with the facebook posse (unless there is an easier target).

this thread is about the low standard for mods and nothing more. He just happened to springboard off your comment, which is the only reason it's here.

In other words, I am defending YOU from this terrible mod. If you disagree, YOU CAN JUST STAY OUT OF IT.

What's the issue with that comment - it doesn't exactly jump out as a blatant attempt to offend or ridicule. Seems like a light-hearted joke to me.

Because it was exactly that. Creating a thread (instead of the report threatened or PM suggested) was the purpose. This kind of attack is a TOS violation as well. Lisa sent a report hours after she started this thread, when a mod asked her about it. It isn't difficult to see what the real goal is here.

Brad,

I dig your willingness to aggressively fight back when members criticize you. For far too long, VJ mods have maintained an appearance of objectivity in the face of poster ire. Frankly, it was sickening to watch and I am happy to see you bring some of that Jerry Springer style to VJ moderation.

Now throw that chair at me while you tackle the bodyguards.

Why is it that so many women have it in for the RUB forum ?

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

You have to hand it to the USSR, they're playing a tremendous end game. Who would have thought in the 1960's that all these conservative American guys would be paying to import Soviet women? We thought Regan was clever

If I had the slightest clue back then that Soviet chicks looked as hot as they do I might have went RED and defected before the wall came down.

Not where I work.

You have to admit though...between Steven and Marc they post some funny pics. I mean where does Steven find this stuff? And it's always witty to boot. Gotta love it. :)
