They misspelled my wife's name on the EAD NOA1 as well, and I just called the number that is listed on the NOA1 and we changed it over the phone. However, we got a biometrics letter just for the EAD and it had the wrong spelling still. And then yesterday we got another Biometrics letter for both the EAD and for AOS and it had the right spelling. I would call just to be sure, but I am sure that you can get it all worked out without a problem. Good luck!

That's exactly what we did. She called the USCIS number on the NOA1 and had them correct it. They told her to wait 30 days to receive a new NOA1 before calling again but we hope it was fixed immediately in their system and that we caught it in time for the biometrics letter to be generated correctly. We're still waiting on the biometrics letter from the EAD and/or the GC so maybe it was...

Well just an update. I called this morning to correct the name, and they gave me a receipt number for the request for name change and told me that someone would be calling to confirm my request. Hope it works! I will also try to correct it during my biometrics walk-in (sometime this week) :)

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

That's what my wife got back on the 8th. She has a receipt number and was told someone would call her but she's heard nothing yet.. I guess that was the 30 days they were referring to. I'm hoping they just fixed it behind the scenes because we're still waiting for the biometrics appointment letter.

Lucky, we don't have a wrong spelling problem, but missing names.

When my husband received his NOA's for AOS and EAD, they were different.

On both they had his first name, middle initial and first last name. But on one of them it included his second last name.

When he received his bio appointment it had his first name, second name, and first last name and no second last name.

I think each time they are sending the notices someone is entering the name information and are not automatically printing based what is in the system, that is if they are only using one system for everything!!!

It looks like you already got it taken care of, but for anybody else that may have the same problem...we got both NOA appointment notices for biometrics for her AOS and EAD on the same day. The EAD notice had her middle name misspelled, but the AOS notice was correct. That tells me that it was somebody manually typing them in and not automatically generated. We didn't even notice it. At the biometric appointment, they noticed it, and corrected it on the spot.

We too have our middle name wrong. Went to biometrics today and they said they could do nothing (we had passport with the name correct as well as GC.)

They said to "write a letter to USCIS and explain the problem. Next!"

So no help there.

Can anyone provide the USCIS number to call? Thank you in advance!!!

Maybe try making an Infopass appointment to get the name mistake fixed?
