There are more than the ones I posted... but I posted the 3 below because it's silly to call it "mean" to eliminate/cut these things. At the end of the day, international business is one thing we need to get out of and land mines/cluster bombs are a part of war, they happen/happened, get over it.

The article is just amusing overall because this is oh so MEAN!

Land Mine Removal

Each year some 4,000 people worldwide are maimed or killed by stepping on unexploded land mines or cluster bombs left over from previous conflicts.

While the United States stopped making land mines back in the 1990s, it is still a top exporter of cluster bombs.

The country is also the largest donor to projects that attempt to find and remove these deadly weapons. It funnels some $80 million to $100 million a year toward the cause, according to Zach Hudson, director of the U.S. Campaign to Ban Landmines and Cluster Bombs.

The budget deal cuts funding to the State Department program that oversees land mine removal by $14 million a year.

The program also funds anti-terrorism and non-proliferation efforts oversees. It's not clear if the $14 million in cuts will come out of the land mine program's budget. If they do, Hudson said it would be "detrimental."

Native American Housing Assistance

Lawmakers cut $50 million from the fund that provides housing assistance to Native Americans, bringing the budget for those programs down to $650 million.

A Senate Democrat staffer on the appropriations committee noted the funding was actually $70 million above what Obama requested.

A spokeswoman for the program said the agency could not comment on the cuts, as they were still under discussion.

US Institute of Peace

This program aims to be a "catalyst for empowering others to prevent, manage and resolve international conflict without resorting to violence," according to its website.

Republicans wanted funding for it eliminated entirely. Democrats fought hard, saying programs like this are strongly supported by the Defense Department as a vital way to achieve lasting peace.

In the end, about $10 million of the agency's 2010 budget of $50 million was eliminated.

Screw the government...both Republicans and Democrats. They are cutting chicking sht #######. Two wars going on right now and we still don't pull out. When the government gets us out of those two wars then they can talk. Otherwise both party's are nothing more than gutless over paid cowards.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Two wars going on right now and we still don't pull out.

We are too long and hard and in to pull out....The US is so huge and hard and once we put it in it takes a lot of time, sometimes decades to climax and finally pull out...Let's just hope we climax after pulling out and not while still inside

India, gun buyback and steamroll.

Those wars cannot be won. It's black and white with zero gray area. If you can't win, then why war ? Explain that one.
