Hello everyone! I had my interview last Thursday at the Chicago USCIS Office and I would just like to share my experience with those who are still anxious and stressed out waiting for their own scheds.

As adviced by our lawyer, we came in just 15 minutes ahead of the time stated on the notice (we were scheduled for 9:30am) however we had to wait for a little over an hour for our turn. The lady officer was nice yet professional. She was able to make the meeting light. Basic questions of how did I come to US (I came in a B-2 visa), how we met, how long we knew each other, names of parents, dates of birth etc. She even asked if my husband went on 1 knee when he proposed. :) She asked for our ID's and Passports (she took my I-94 and gave me back my EAD), evidences of relationships (i gave copies of bank statements and insurance docs)and pictures too and then that was it. When she was about to start asking those questions on the form, she even told me "I will be asking you uncomfortable questions. I hate to do this but it's my job to ask them".

All in all, I think it went well however she did not really say if my application was Approved or Denied. She went thru discussing the conditions on the greencard though and its removal after how many months. Based on what I've read here, it seems like it's ordinary now. She did not say "IF" you receive your greencard...she said "WHEN".

What do you guys think?

02/11/2012 (Day ***) Service request..Told its being reviewed by supervisor

24th March 2012!!!!!!!!!!! Email notifiying me of CARD IN PRODUCTION
03/26/2012 (Day 376) Emails confirming that my I-130 and I-485 have been approved.

4/2/2012 Green Card In Hand!

Unbelievable that my journey took this long but Im thankful

Next Stop Premed...Yup!

3/24/2014 Application for conditions to be removed

9/22/2014 APPROVED without interview.

I hope so, Myopia! Hopefully it does not take 30 days though. One hurdle down...more to go! :)

Taking the I-94 is generally always a good sign. Check your email/text/online updates from USCIS and you could be pleasantly surprised!

Nov. 5: Sent AOS Package

Nov 17: AOS received by USCIS

April 1: INTERVIEW DAY. Approved!!!!!!

Early June: Moved to New York City. The only relevant city in the world ;)

Yeah, I'm always excited to check my incoming emails now!

Kish, just the bunch of questions that we normally check NO in the form . If you've ever been arrested....if you've been a prostitute... no need to be worried. :)

I got the questions as well and my husband was laughting he was like ahah yeah look at her !

7/28/04 we met

10/ /06 started dating long distance, not fun

7/15/08 we gave birth to a beautiful baby boy

11/11/10 we got married in amazing Santa Barbara

11/17/10 mailed I 130, I 131, AP and EAD

11/25/10 package received

12/06/10 checks cashed

12/08/10 Email/ text

12/11/10 NOA hard copies in the mail

01/ /11 biometrics walk in successful in Oxnard

Congratulations! I would definitely say you are approved!

02/21/99 Hubby entered with F1 student visa D/S

May 2002 He stopped attending school because he couldn't afford it any longer.

03?/2002 USC sibling I-130 petition

02/2009 Met hubby

08/2009 Sibling petition approved but ineligible to adjust status due to overstay

07/10 Married :)

11/22/10 [day 0]- mailed AOS packet!! should be there by noon 11/23/2010

12/3/10 [day 11]- received email/text notification of acceptance from USCIS

12/3/10 hubby surprised me with a trip to Los Angeles for my birthday...no problems :)

12/6/10 [day 14]- received hard copy NOA1 in mail

12/7/10 [day 15]- checks cashed...ouch

12/15/10 [day 23]- rec'd biometrics appt set for Dec. 28th at 10 am! :)

12/28/10 [day 36]- successful biometrics appt

01/27/11 [day 66]- rec'd interview appt set for March 10th at 10 am :)

02/25/11 [day 95]- rec'd EAD

03/10/11 [day 109]- Interview, Green card approved!! :)

Next Step: Removing conditions in 2 years.

Good news!

I just received an email alert saying that I-485 Application is already on its Card/Document Production! Woohoo!!! Just to make sure, I likewise checked the case status on the USCIS website. My husband's I-130 application is still under "Initial Review" though. :huh:
