Questions about AP and Form I-131

I am trying to put the finishing touches on my spouse's AOS packet. We weren't going to file for AP because in reading the instructions I thought we wouldn't qualify unless there was a family emergency or a business trip. After doing some research on VJ it seemed silly NOT to apply for AP even just to have for peace of mind, in case something comes up or there is a family emergency, we'd be set to go. However, even reading the instructions from that perspective, I am still confused.

We don't have any plans to leave the U.S. until the green card comes. So we have no specific dates, reasons, etc. As a K-1 visa holder filling to adjust status, I assume we are applying for AP and none of the other two categories listed on the form. If I am wrong in that assumption, please someone correct me.

1. For Part 3 Processing Information, we put To Be Determined for the date of departure and length of trip. Is that correct?

2. For Part 4 Information about your Proposed travel we put "In case of emergency travel is required during the Adjustment of Status process." Is that what we should do or leave it blank?

3. Do we need to submit an I-131 supplemental sheet like the example provided by VJ in the Example Forms?

4. In the I-131 instructions on page 4, it says we must also include a document presented by USCIS showing your present status in the US. Is this the I-94?

5. In the I-131 instructions on page 4, it says we must also include a copy of a USCIS receipt as evidence you filed the adjustment application. But we are filing our I-485 and the I-131 at the same time. So what should we include to prove we are co-filing?

Thank you in advance for any light you could shed on this form.

What you filled in sounds good. When filed all together, no need to send proof of co-filing. If you sent I-131 alone at a later date, you could use the NOA from the I-485 to file with no fee.

We followed the VJ example for the supplemental sheet, but some people don't and are approved too.

We sent this with the I-131:

Photographs (2) of immigrant (passport type)

Statement of circumstances that warrant issuance of advance parole

Photocopy of passport biographical page and K1 visa page

Photocopy of Form I-94 Arrival/Departure record

1. Unknown or whatever is fine

2. You don't complete this part. You'll see under Q3 of part 3 it says go to part 7 if applying for AP

3. No. This isn't required and I've asked to have it removed but they still haven't

4. present status is K1 visa

5. nothing.

There's an AOS thread in my signature with the required doc list for AOS (including AP and EAD)
