All, finally after 6 months of waiting we have received approval on our I-129F. We are very happy about it, however NOA2 letter is stating that it has been forwarded to the listed consulate and not NVC. How is that possible? We are super confused here. Lots of other posts are stating it has to go through NVC. I also called NVC, asked the same question and they said some cases do not get forwarded to NVC instead they will be send to consulate. Please only respond if you were in this situation b4 and want to share the outcome. Do not reply if you just think it will go to NVC and/or you read something in some other forums.

They all say that. However, your application does go to the NVC. Ours said the exact same thing I asked this exact same question.

And my reply to you is the same as all the replies I got when I posted this question.

Yes, the process for K1 Visas goes to the NVC once it leaves the service center that your I-129 application got approved at.

Good Luck on your journey.

John

Ok thank you! If it is okay to ask. How long did it take for your documents to arrive at NVC? How long it was in NVC before it was send to consulate?

My best friends I-129f went straight to the consulate in the Philippines. It took 5 days once he got his approval. But that was November 2009. I was told by USCIS that non-immigrant visa's go straight to the consulates. Immigrant visa's like an I-130 go to the NVC.

Thank you for reply, I really have to call USCIS first thing on Monday. It kinda makes sense, since I-129F is first part of the process, where fiancée will come to USA and process will continue, meaning obtaining I-485, removing condition and etc... where I think NVC will be involved at some point.
