How much evidence do you really need provide with your I-130? I sent pics, affidavats, passport copy, wedding invite, and a couple other things. But a lot of people seem to have added letters, IM chat logs, cards and emails. Are those more useful with the application or at the time of interview? Does it make it faster to add these items with the app?

Thank you !!

I know that what people say is the more the better... I only sent my marriage certificate and our joint checking account... nothing else (out of lack of knowledge actually). Never got an RFE and was approved after 6 months approx. I did put my facebook profile open to public where I had tons of pics with him... not sure if this helped or not. To be safe sentd as much as you can, but they generally place more value to the financial co-mingling so if you can add the spouse to the other spouse's bank account. Good luck!

Don't save anything back for a London interview because they don't look at chats, photos, emails, or any relationship things. If you want it looked at, send it now.

Thanks everyone for the quick responses. I did also send a copy of a check from a joint checking acct with my husband. I have also added him as a user on a couple of my credit cards.

I think I will be fine. I am sure you know how it feels when you start second guessing yourself :-)Didn't add him to the lease though but I did change my last name on it to my now married name. I will just be sure to have plenty more when it comes to the interview. ;-)

So glad to see this post because I am not as well educated on the CR1 visa as the K3 and have been wondering exactly what eveidence to send. We are having a discussin about out options and couldn't figure out what we could use to show a valid marriage since he would be in another country, I was under the impression that you had to have a SSN to add someone to your bank account. So if we were to marry, I could just add him to my lease and bank account and that would be sufficient?

@patientlywaiting: I'm not sure if the SSN is a requirement, but he does have to be there in person to sign the account paperwork. I would talk to your bank to see the requirements they have about adding nonresident aliens.

I sent in pictures from wedding up to my most recent visit at the time; affidavits from my dad and a friend, plane tickets/passport stamps/trip iteneraries, and the paperwork adding him to my phone plan and health plan. I don't have a lease or mortgage, and since he hasn't been to see me here in the States since.. two years ago, I haven't had a chance to add him to my bank accounts. Apparently that was good enough to pass muster with the USCIS. Now, YMMV, but that may help you decide what to do/send. :)

Holding my nose and jumping off the cliff.. hope I don't hit any rocks in the water.

I was able to add my husband with no SS#. I sent him the papers to sign in the mail and when he sent them back I took them to the bank. I have heard how ever of some banks not allowing you to add anyone with out a SS#. I bank with Bank of America and they have always been very helpful. My husband doesn't live her with me so instead of adding him to the lease I just changed my name on my lease to my married name. I didn't however send that in as I changed it after sending in the application. I just figured it would be something to take to the interview or if they ask for more evidence.
