Employment letter: Salary Vs. Income

Hi everyone,

I have a question about the employment letter that you submit with the AOS for the NVC process. My husband gets a raise every June and that affects his income (yearly tax). I was wondering if having the salary (pay rate) stated on the employment letter will raise a flag because it will not match the most recent tax transcript (AGI). Can anyone confirm that this is acceptable or share their experiences with this.

I am sure USCIS understands that people get raises. If the amount on the employment letter is greater than in the taxes, why not simply explain in the employment letter that raises are given every June?

I highly doubt it will raise flags

Even if they don't match and it is not included in the employment letter, simply explain it to them if they ask

Honestly, it would be a bigger deal if the listed salary was lower than the one on the tax transcrip, I am sure they won't bat an eyelash at a higher amount

It's important to understand that the I-864 contains questions about both past and current income. They might be the same but usually are not. So, just concentrate on answering each question accurately and truthfully.
