I hope it does not take too long for the package to arrive.:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

USCIS does not send documents to Kiev. An ignorant person may tell you that but ALL approved petitions go directly to NVC who then sends them to the consulate. even if the NOA2 letter says it was "sent to the consulate" it is sent to the consulate THROUGH NVC. NVC will do their processing then send it on to Kiev. Kiev receives it and it takes 2-3 weeks after receiving it to enter it in the system. Provided fast turn around at NVC, you are about a month from being able to schedule an appointment.

Good luck.

Gary, my mistake. I wanted to write NVC not VSC. I was so excited! I received word from NVC that it was approved and sent to Kiev on the 14th. I was amazed it only took two days for them to process our documents. Anyway we are both very excited.

Good deal. It usually takes Kiev 2-3 weeks to get them in the system where you can make an appointment.

Money saving tip...

Kiev updates theur files ONLY on Fridays AFTER the call centrer closes, so always call on Monday morning and use your case number to ask if they have your case yet. If the answer is "no", there is no need to call again until the next Monday. The call center is in Warsaw Poland and they have no way to check on your case other than what is in their computer database.

Ours also was sent to Kiev 4/14 and I agree it to 8 months to get to this point and cannot wait really. Any tell if we will get some kind of fee schedule from the Consular? I am trying to see how bad the bleeding will be and I am not sure what will need to be paid. My fiancee and two children one is 17 the other 10. (Visa fees)$985.00 X 2, $385.00 x 1, $85.00 x 3, must be form fees as well my head is spinning.

Gary, Thank You! Great information. I did not know the call center is in Poland. Elena wants to call tomorrow, Tuesday, to see if they received our case and to make an appointment. But I will pass on this information.

Question. The visa and medical fees are paid in dollars. Will they only take money that is in perfect condition? I ran into this problem in Ukraine when I wanted to convert dollars to hryvnia. I brought Elena the money when I last visited, and now I am a little worried.

I just checked DHL and two packages arrived in Kiev this morning. One must be ours and the other yours :)

I don't understand the fees you posted. Visa cost $350.00 for each person and the medical is less than $150 I believe.

Yes, $350 for the visa (paid at Privat Bank) and less than $150 for the medical exam.

Once Keiv has the package from NVS, what is the process to receive our KEV number? Lena will go with her son on May 10th. They will drive during the night from Kharkov (5 hrs). Also, it is my understanding that she can wait and receive the medical report on the same day. Is this correct? Thanks.

Actually the fee for the visa can be paid at the consulate. If you like you can pay part of it at the bank, but the rest must be paid at the consulate. This is my understanding after reading the instructions on the US Embassy in Kiev web site.

The NVC will issue you the Kiev number. I called them a few days after they received the package. Just give them the USCIS case number.

I believe the medical can be anytime after the Kiev number has been issued. And yes, they will give her the results the same day, in the afternoon.
