Help Asap! (Forms: "None" vs "N/A" etc) [edited title]

Hi Guys,

My questions is about the forms to the interview it's ok if you put a N/A in the place of a None, my fiance said they just look at both in the same way, that it doesn't matter. But I'm kind of worried if those N/A can bring problems for my interview. What do you guys think?

N/A isn't the same as None. N/A means Not Applicable.

For the forms, put None. On the one form where it asks if you have ever been to the United States, if you never have put: Never.

The problem is not about the beneficiary forms because I did make sure I put everything in he right place but he put some N/A in the I 134 where I think he should put none, I'm very worried about it but he said the consulate look at both at the same way but I don't think so.

Do you think the consulate will care about it?

We don't have time to change it. I guess just if he mail this to me to the hotel but I don't think it can arrive on time (4days to my interview).

So it will cause me problems yes or no?

US NONE that is the appropriate way...All questions that ask for it I did NONE and we did very well with the application...Do not use N/A at all

I was so paranoid of them looking for any excuse to deny us that I actually wrote out "fiance has no children". You never know with these people. People get RFE's for lots of stupid reasons including us.

There have been cases that received RFE for using N/A instead of None and vice-versa. However, they are far and few between probably originating from an adjudicator who was either a bean counter or English teacher in a previous life.

I would not be concerned at all, but still have the corrected forms on standby in case there is an issue.

N/A (not applicable)implies the question does not apply to you or whoever is filling out the form. That is generally not the case, since the questions are intended for everyone to answer.

None implies just that, none.

For example, if your fiance answered, N/A to "Names of Previous Spouses", that would imply the question is not applicable to him, when it is. Answering "none" is more appropriate, as that tells he has had no previous spouses.

It's really just semantics and I'm sure there are some COs who are picky enough to require None over N/A.

For the i-134, as Coconuts pointed out, they are really interested in the actual financial info. You could in theory have a problem, but probably won't.
