President Obama says his 2006 vote against raising the debt limit was "political" and that he wasn't thinking about "what was important for the country.

Here's what Obama told ABC News's George Stephanopoulos: "I think that it’s important to understand the vantage point of a senator versus the vantage point of a ... president. When you’re a senator, traditionally what’s happened is, this is always a lousy vote. Nobody likes to be tagged as having increased the debt limit for the United States by a trillion dollars. ... As president, you start realizing: 'You know what? We -- we can’t play around with this stuff. This is the full faith in credit of the United States.' And so that was just a example of a new senator, you know, making what is a political vote as opposed to doing what was important for the country. And I’m the first one to acknowledge it."

What has Obama done that is radical? Everything else is true, I always said from the moment he appeared that he's the US's Tony Blair and so he has proved, but like Tony, he seems to fool the extreme right fan boys into thinking he's some kind of loony lefty when the reality is that he's essentially a centrist.

ever looked at who Obama is personally associated with/friends with? People he had to 'dis-associate' himself with allegedly?

His voting record shows that he's anything but a Centrist.

As President, he's continued a lot of the "Bush" policies, yes. However Bush wasn't exactly conservative at the end of the day either. Anyone who's rational understood that.

He does play to the banks and corporate interests, but that's normal of any sitting President in recent years. Whomever has the money wins the day, right? That doesn't really make him a centrist.

He'll spend the next year looking like a centrist though, because that's ultimately what will get him re-elected if he can show he's that. Don't be fooled by it though. In '08 he could say whatever he wanted because of the way he spoke and no one gave a damn to pay attention to who he was. You can't do that the second time around though, you have to appear to be crossing the aisle.

He's shown who is he all of his life, from hating the fact that he has his 'white' side, to associating himself with William Ayers, his radical Church pastor for over 20 yeras.. These are not people you associate yourself with unless you deeply believe in their causes.

Your proof that he is radical boils down to a vague association with 2 few dubious characters and that in your opinion Obama hates his white ancestry. Surely even you can see that that is less than convincing? A radical, once in a powerful position would in fact try to attempt to do something, well radical. Obama has not done that. What's he waiting for, his second term in office? Is that when we'll see all these crazy radical policies being introduced?

Try again Paul, what policies has he implemented after being elected president of the US, theoretically the most powerful position in the world (and therefore surely the best opportunity he is EVER going to get to implement a radical agenda)? There must be one, surely?

Some folks are just self-deluding. Label Obama a radical and then point to tangential 'proof' it is so. As to 'hating' his white side, at his age he would have been looked down on from both blacks and whites so if Obama was conflicted it only makes sense, but Herr Beck makes the claim and some folks run with it...
