Has NVC recieved my K1 visa?!?!

hey guys, i know this might be a dumb question, but i'm obsessing over it and check the mail like a maniac the second i wake up in the morning.....So here's the deal: I got a text on April 5th saying our fiance visa was approved and got a hard copy of the NOA2 in the mail on April 9th. Does anyone know approximately when i'm supposed to hear/find out that the NVC has received our fiance visa? Can i call the NVC even if i dont have the NVC's case number for us? Of course i have the USCIS' case number, but i'm assuming that is a completely different number.

Ideas, anyone?

You can completely call! They'll take your USCIS receipt # from you and let you know if you're in the system. There's a great thread on calling both NVC and DOS here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/264972-shortcuts-when-checking-for-updates-from-the-nvc-and-dos/

I think you're misunderstanding something. The k1 petition was approved, however your application has to be forwarded to nvc then to your fiance's foreign country where there will be an interview.

I just had to correct you because you stated in your post that your fiance visa is approved, its not completely approved yet until the interview.

Still haven't recieved visa yet: I was lucky enough to get my money back because the flight canceled.

Thanks Ralyse, I'm definitely going to call very soon. I was hoping they could use the USCIS receipt # to locate my information!! wonderful!

and kjenkins86, thanks for lookin out for me...i definitely know that the fiance visa isnt approved completely lol....words just came out a little misleading :)
