According to the shop, the retaining clip came off and the axle pulled out of the CV joint. The axle was too chewed up for the splines to re-fit, so a new axle was needed. Found out this morning that the torque converter is also shot, but that should be covered by the warranty 'cause I got the tranny rebuilt last summer. The axle should probably be covered by my regular mechanic because it was probably his screw up. He did a bunch of suspension work a couple of weeks ago. I'm guessing he forgot to put the clip back on. Dunno. It could have just broke.

It's a Volvo V70 wagon. I think it would look pretty silly with 22's, but then I think ALL cars look silly with 22's. :whistle:

definitly mechanic error IMO...You are lucky it wasnt worse... :thumbs:

you should upgrade to a vespa scooter, and put some 22s on that baby...you can have the best of both usa and vietnam :thumbs:

If I pile the whole family on the scooter then it will DEFINITELY be just like Vietnam! :thumbs:
