Max Medcentre is the only authorized center for medicals in Delhi. If you had medical done there, pls share your experience. I have the following queries:

1) how far in advance from the interview date one needs to have the appointment for medical examination?

2) my wife does not have prior immunization record, will that be a problem?

3) Are there female doctors available to do the medical examination of female applicants?

4) do we need to submit the medical report to VSF office or we take it with us to the embassy on the day of the interview?

Not related to medical:

5) on the embassy website it says that if you have sent all the documents to NVC that you can visit the VSF office one day prior to the interview to pay the courier fee? How reliable is this info? Should I play safe and go toVSF 7 days before the interview?

6) can I(petitioner) accompany my wife to the embassy for the interview?

Pls guys share your experience.

I am almost out of TSC blackhole.

The medical part of it is very easy. It will take about a half day for the actual appointment and you will need to make 2 trips (one for the appointment, another to pick everything up).

1) how far in advance from the interview date one needs to have the appointment for medical examination?

You will only have about 1.5 months between the time you receive the Interview Letter and the actual Interview Date. You can go for the Medical Appointment as soon as you receive the Interview Letter. The people at the Medcentre will tell you to come 2 weeks beforehand - but it is best to go a little early regardless of what they say.

2) my wife does not have prior immunization record, will that be a problem?

No problem whatsoever

3) Are there female doctors available to do the medical examination of female applicants?

The exam for my wife was conducted by a male doctor. There was a female nurse in the exam room as well. I'm sure you can request the exam to be by a female, but the actual doctor whose approval is needed is a male.

4) do we need to submit the medical report to VSF office or we take it with us to the embassy on the day of the interview?

We took the medical report to the Embassy in our hand. Most other IV filers also had their Medical Reports in hand on the day of the interview.

Technically speaking you could do that. However we went about 1 week before the interview to the VFS office just in case. If you are not submitting any more supporting documents to VFS, then the only purpose of the VFS is to have them give you a receipt showing you have paid them the courier fee.

6) can I(petitioner) accompany my wife to the embassy for the interview?

Yes, I accompanied my wife to everything (Medical, VFS, Interview). Make sure to bring your US Passport at all times.

Pls guys share your experience.
