we applied in November 2010 , and we haven't heard nothing as we speak(Our case was touched on march 16 ) .I have no idea why they are not approving ours NOA2 when they have started approving December filers.

Now my question is our priority date is NOV 15 and Notice date is nov 18 , when should we start contacting Senator/Congressman ?

I am angry , depressed and amazed at the same time. All valueable suggestion will be appreciated

The 18th will make it 5 months.. I know how you feel..How do you know its been touched??

I see people with later dates being approved also.. I think they just take the applications at random

we signed up for case updates on the USCIS site. log into your account and you'll find your case number and you can see a section that shows the update/date. When the update changes you'll see a new date; that means the case has been worked on.

I suggest you to hold on till your 5 month period is over. My application got approved after 7 months. After 5 months, you can start contacting your congressman.

Once you hit your 5 months, contact your congressman and your senators. I didn't know who mine were until I hit the 5 month mark and googled them. Just call any congressman's local office and give them your address, they will get you to the correct congressman for your specific district. Tell them the processing time listed is 5 months and yours is taking longer. They will likely tell you to wait till the 6th month mark but that you would have a decision by then.

There is so much in this process that is out of your hands and I know that is frustrating. :crying: But this is something YOU can do! Something you can be working on now to help yourselves. I just got my approval yesterday right at the 6 month mark. And don't take anything a 1st level VSC person tells you. have them escalate your call to the 2nd tier, those people seem to have more up to date information. I called them today and they told me they were working on cases from september 11!! which clearly is not true. So hang in there till you hit your 5 month, go ahead and find out the names and phone numbers for those 3 people (1 congressman and 2 senators) and have your information ready to send to them. That's what you can do right now, today, to help your case.

Keep in mind that the adjudacators will take a stack of petitions to work on so things won't get processed in the order they receive. If one adjudacator has a stack they get through quickly then their next stack may be from weeks later than the dates that others are working on. Frustrating and seemingly random I know but no one seems to want to change the system. At 5 months call the USCIS first before calling your rep or senator. I am all for getting the congressperson involved but at least call USCIS first. There may have been some correspondence sent to you that you haven't received or is lost and you can get this info directly. If (as is likely) they just give the canned wait 6 months response then by all means get your rep/senator involved.

Sarah,

Go ahead and call your congressman. Get the process started. They have a form you will have to fill out and return to them, before they can do anything. My opinion is you don't have to wait. The congressional staffer can sit on it a day or two if s/he wants, but you're so close so go ahead. It will relieve some of your tension to have that process started.

Good luck!

I am in the same boat as Sarah, but my Priority Date is November 7. We passed our 5 months a week ago. I contacted my congressman last Monday via email. No response. I called his office and left a message today. I emailed one of my senators today via email.

Also, because I'm OCD and am easily pissed off when I have zero control of a situation, I created my own spreadsheet containing my WAC number, and the preceding 400 numbers. Every couple of days I check the status of these numbers to see what kind of movement happens within a range of 400 WAC numbers. The average is about 4 per day. There are "chunks" of numbers that haven't been updated, which leads me to believe that the petitions come in, are split into work groups, and by luck of the draw, you either get some 20 year old on lots of caffeine working lots of cases, or you get Edna who should have retired ten years ago and is now hidden behind an ever-growing wall of backlogged petitions.

I'm so sorry that you have to go through this too . Atleast you are active enough to contact senator and congressman my husband isn't proactive so I'm hoping for few good weeks until he contacts his congressman. I chck my status every 10 mins on site but nothing . People who have recipt number ahead of us are approved but I don't know why the hell they aren't approving rest of us . It makes my mind bo when I think about it . Good luckburebista keep calling your congressman and senator I'm sure you will get your noa2 soon and I'm praying hard that people who hasn't recieved their noa2 don't get transferred to Texas .
