Why Illegal Immigration will Never End

FYI, that's a US Circuit Court decision, which means it's basically law: people have to be warned of all the direct and indirect consequences of pleading guilty or nolo contendere before they do so (including immigration consequences, losing the right to vote and bear arms, and I forget what else). If they don't, the conviction can be reversed on the grounds that it wasn't knowing.

But hey, why let a little thing like the facts stand in the way of your self-righteousness?

So to paraphrase, you are saying you support amnesty for penguins, correct?

Peejay, China also has emigrants moving to Russia as well. Russia has a HUGE illegal immigration problem also but in Russia you MUST learn Russian!

Like I said...there is more to life than GDP. Do you not wonder why Chinese move illegally from a country with a high GDP to a country with much, much lower GDP?

The fact is that a vast majority of their citizens gain little, if any, benefit from it. The rich get richer and...

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

Local authorities dont enforce Federal law. Sometimes the police pick em up, call the Border Patrol and they never show up as they have better things to do. Gotta kick em loose after 3 days. So the locals dont even bother.

And then there are "sanctuary cities" like Houston, L.A., etc. that prohibit police and city officials from inquiring about the immigration status of individuals they come into contact with in the course of their duties. No wonder my city is a magnet for these people and all the negative consequenses they bring. Too bad the corrupt business comunity that profits from this institutional corruption doesn't tolerate this sh*t in their own communities.

Just another example of the "race to the bottom" mentality.

Is it any wonder that we get what we tolerate? Communities (and countries) that have zero tolerance for illegal immigrants don't have major problems with it. Make it impossible for illegals to work, thrive, and survive. Then they will stay home, return home, or find another place to go.

This constant whining about mass deportations and round ups is absurd. When they cannot easily live here illegally...they will go somewhwere else.

...NAFTA had a big impact in the surge of illegal immigrants...

Our Mexican immigrant population, most of it illegal, exploded during the 1990s, from 4.2 million to 9.2 million, reaching a whopping 10.5 million by 2004. Some of this would have happened even without NAFTA -- assuming we pursued the same policy of non-enforcement of the immigration laws -- but it was supercharged by NAFTA.

I think your comment were not warrented. It is people like you that will never let this country come together and become one race (human race). We are all human beings no matter what color, creed or religion we are. Sorry to tell you your people are also part of the problem. The are using EBt as well.

Igornace is not excuse.

Exactly. The other week I saw a person on CNN say that succesful Black Americans owe a duty to their fellow black brothers. He was then questioned by the host that shouldn't americans all be united and everyone help each other. He replied, "Well, everyone owes something to their group / race of people". Which the host replied "Well then, maybe George Bush should just take a leaf from your book and only look after white people". The other guy then changed his tune and said yeah we should all be equal..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

We need change and we needed it yesterday!

Finally someone has seen the light.

The US needs to build a freakin high-tech wall to begin with. Then make it illegal for anyone to hire an illegal immigrant. This cuts the supply as well as the demand.

Black Americans are the ones who are most affected by illegal immigration. Especially when considering the high rate of poverty among black-americans. I would rather pay a few dollars more and give that community a chance rather than see illegal immigrants take the jobs from them.

When will the American politicians wake up and help their fellow Americans???

wow, are you always like this? i'll give you one thing: you sure know how to be mad.

Lets look at Japan again. They are a country with NO illegal immigration problem. They also are a country whose population is shrinking. A report in the paper(Sacramento Bee) the other day(sorry, no link) was talking about how Japan will not be able to keep growing economically because it will not have to population to keep pushing it. The article also pointed out that the US of A will be the only developed country to keep growing economically becuase of its population growth. Population growth that will continue to grow in part due to immigration(note: all immigration, not just legal as some of you like to point out).

So, really, despite some ppls claims of "race to the bottom" mentaility, the US of A will be doing just fine thank you very much.

God bless America.

:energetic:

daniel, don't you think being an island is the reason they don't have an illegal immigration problem?

 a big part. that is why, as i stated, Japan is a country with NO illegal immigration. To me, that is a stipulation. what I tried to explain was the offshoot of that. to compare and contrast. Japan: no immigration; US of A: high immigration. What might happen in the future becuse of this. ...

and obviously did not make that clear becuase some posters tried to extend the logic to penguins. :P oh well.
