packet #3

Hi everyone I am glad to be a part of this community and the wealth of information that is found here is very helpful since I have joined VJ. I do not know if this has been posted before, but if it is I could not find the post.

I am trying to get information on how long it normally takes to get PACKET #3 from the consulate in Amman, Jordan?

It has been a little over 2 weeks and my fiancee still has not received it as yet.

I have try calling, but was told the only way to find out about my case status is thru email.

Within the past 1 1/2 week I have sent 2 separate email inquiring about my case, but have not gotten a reply as yet.

Any information on the above question will be grateful.

ahhh Amman they are so slow in sending out packets. They also send them to the choice of agent. Your husband can try to go to the embassy and pick it up if he does not receive it in the mail. Also the mail system in Jordan sucks. Takes forever! There are a few of us who had this problem. Maybe one of the other ladies who have been through Amman can give you some info also.

It took me about 5 weeks to get it via snail mail. They sent it to the usa!!!

I originally sent them my fiancee's local mailing address there in Amman through the email.

Their response was they will mail out the packet once they schedule her interview. I also know that the mail system takes forever. It took 20 days for 1 of my letter to reach my fiancee via snail mail. I have also use DHL which is excellent.

5 weeks is about the same for our paperwork from Amman, too. That was a pretty aggrivating time...the embassy kept telling me that the paperwork was sent to him..."wait 30 days"..."no, of course we wouldn't send it to the US, that would be stupid"..."thanks for verifying his address, that is where we sent it"...And then when a month had passed, they told me that they have walk-in hours on tuesdays and thursdays! Once he went in and picked up a replacement package, it arrived at my house in chicago. They lie. Good luck getting yours soon.
