My fiance's income tax return 2009 & 2010 are low.. his current job pays $32,500/year plus $6,000/a year from military benefit and we will be including it to his source of income.. so his annual income is $38,500/ year.. we are 5 households me, him, my son, and his 2 girls (not living with him but stil they are included right?)

so my question is, Do we still need to have a co-sponsor with that? we are just destructed w/ his low ITR and we think it could affect my visa approval during the interview? or what matters most is his current income? Thank you so much! answers will be much much appreciated! God Bless to all..

It's his current income that counts the most- as long as you can document it with a few paystubs and a letter from the employer, you won't need a co-sponsor.

Did you mean to post this in the Canada forum?

For a household of 5, federal poverty is $26,170 and 125% is $32,712.50 It looks like for the K-1 you would be okay but you may need a co-sponsor later on when you adjust status as I believe then you must be >125% poverty level.

The Story So Far:

Apr 1 2011 - Engaged!

Apr 18 2011 - Sent I-129F...hoping for the best.

Apr 29 2011 - NOA 1 - California Service Center

Jul 14 2011 - NOA 2 (76 days after NOA 1)

we need co sponsor later on? his annual salary is $32,500 plus his military benefit of $6000 so he makes $38,500/ year.. do we still need co sponsor later on? thanks much for the reply :) i appreciate it!

If the $6000 is permanent income then NO, he does not need a co-sponsor. For a family of 5, $38,500 is well above 125% of the poverty level which is $32,712. As long as he doesn't live in Alaska or Hawaii :)

^^^ I agree with George.

I would just like to add that you need to count all unmarried children under 21 years old in your household size regardless of whether they live with you or not.

Don't worry, the forums take some getting used to, which is why I moved it for you.
