Just noticed that some have been BACK quite soon after the ceremony... I can't imagine that I'd want to spend that much time diverted from my 'new life' after having been apart for so long, but perhaps I'm missing something???

Anyone???

Jen

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

About a week or 2 after the wedding I was on showing pictures. Then I still posted but a whole lot less than before Sujeet arrived. But then life goes back to a pattern, he got a job eventually, which left me with time to kill. (I was working only part time back then). Now I have even more time to kill while he is working, and I am not working. When he 1st arrived I was hardly on here. I was pretty sure that my VJ life would mostly end after he came(except for AOS questions, etc). Wow was I wrong. :P

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

With that NEW life come NEW problems. JV is a great sounding board for culture shock, driving lessons, food, etc. It is also a good way to let some steam off when you are tired of explaining how the dishwasher works for the 20th time. :-)

JenT,

One thing that you're missing is that not every VJer is K1. (With acknowledgement to Frances for pointing it out first.)

Wow, I have no idea. Probably about three days? We were married on a Friday afternoon, then went away (not far away, just away from our roommates!) for three days, so I probably posted Monday or Tuesday. Both of us were working full time (and then some) and had a hard time getting off for the wedding day, let alone a honeymoon, and we didn't move in together until nearly a month later (we were living in the same town, he was here on a work visa, so our situation is rather different from most people's).
