preempting RFE for original signature

Has anyone successfully sent in additional information for your packet, before receiving an RFE? I've seen some people say that you should just wait for the RFE, but why not give it a shot if it might save you a couple of weeks? Hopefully they won't be annoyed and think you're asking for special treatment.

Also, has anyone gotten away with not having an original signature on the letter of intent? I believe you don't actually need one on the biographic info anymore.

I wish the instructions on uscis.gov were clearer with regard to this one issue. It just says "original statement," which I took to mean "in one's own words." It's spelled out more plainly elsewhere on the site.

It's a high-quality color scan, with the signature in blue. They might actually mistake it for an original if they don't break out a magnifying glass.

If you haven't received a case/file number yet then it would be a long shot to have the new submission get matched with your file.

No, but I have read of several cases where people sent additional information before getting the RFE and it was no help. On the RFE letter it says to return the letter on top of the documents requested. Without that letter they presumably wouldn't try to match it to your case so you're just whistling in the wind. Better to just wait it shouldn't take more than a week to receive.

I did. Worked for me. The first time, I sent just the I-129F form and the fee. Nothing else.

So I made a copy of the packet I should have sent, and then mailed that in to the Service Center with a copy of my NoA1 on top.

Then I got an approval. There was no RFE, and I know they matched the paperwork up with my petition because I would not have been approved without it.

Great, thank you! Did you get a "touch" after you mailed in the new stuff?
