My fiance'e has finally arrived and we are getting married soon. I am trying to perepare the documents for her AOS. I read that we need her vaccination record from here medical. However, none of her documents from her medical were returned to her by the embassy in Lima, Peru or the Immigration Officer in Miami, Florida. I am sure that they are on file somewhere. How do we get copies of this document?

hi there

two things you could do

ring and organise with the medical examiner in her country to post a copy of her results to you

or

get another medical with an authorised medical examiner

try the phone call first because the medical will cost u an arm an a leg i reckon

my doctor gave me a complete copy of what was given to the embassey..wonder why they dont do this as this is a requirement of being an examiner of the u.s. government

good luck

take care

This is good info, but I have a question. We need to file the AOS as soon as possible to get the EAD. We do not have the I 693. My wife just came here on a K1 visa. My question is, we made an appointment for the vaccinations, but is this neccessary? We want to get things rolling, but not go through all of this at once.

You won't have an I-693. That's a medical report prepared by civil surgeons here in the US (just so you know). What you may need is the I-693A.

There was a copy of the DS-3025 in your medical packet but apparently your doc didn't give you a copy. Try to obtain it if you can.

It's my opinion that one should go to a civil surgeon with the DS-3025 and have them complete an I-693A. There are posters here who submitted only the DS-3025 with their packet and all went well - there are others who submitted just the DS-3025 and were RFE'd or delayed at interview. Perhaps it is a case of the vaccine requirements not being met - perhaps it is something more.

If you or the civil surgion are unsure of your immunizations a simple titre test can reveal what you have been immunized for and what you haven't . The civil surgeon should also know what vaccines are required for your AOS - they are age appropriate. He can then certify to those vaccines on the I-693A.

The charge for such services should be nominal.

Yes, the vaccinations are necessary if she did not already have them when her medical was done. As a K-1 your wife doesn't need to redo the I-693 if you apply for the AOS within a year of the medical. She is supposed to have the I693A which is the vaccination supplement prepared in the US by a Civil Surgeon. She needs to provide proof of what vaccinations she has already had and then proof of whatever vaccinations that are required and she has had since then with her AOS. The Civil Surgeon prepares the document - the Vaccination Supplement - based upon the vaccination worksheet copy from the medical, or other documentary evidence that your wife has to prove she has these vaccinations. If she doesn't submit the evidence of the vaccinations with the AOS application they may send an RFE for them. If that happens processing also stops on the EAD until the information is provided since the AOS application is viewed as incomplete. The EAD is dependent on having a complete AOS application accepted. Now - sometimes they don't send the RFE and you are able to present the vaccination proof at the interview but you can't predict what USCIS is going to do and if getting the EAD as soon as possible is a priority, you don't want to risk an incomplete AOS application and an RFE.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
