You don't need to wait for the NVC to contact you and you don't need to wait until the 2nd week of each month. The operators will tell you they only schedule the second week of each month but that's not the case (see Saylin's timeline as an example).

Operated told the same to my husband, that only in the middle of November we will get to know interview date.

So we might get know interview date earlier then middle of November????

They always say '2nd week of the month',, I remember when I called it was only in the first week, and was able to get an interviewdate. I called every 2 - 3 days, you can't rush it anyway, so try not to be overlyfocused over it! It just takes time! When they scheduled me it was for November 8th, I rescheduled at the embassy and got an interview on Oct 18th. So, you can always reschedule and push it afterwards! Just relax, keep the faith and plan your trip home! Mine is scheduled for tomorrow!

NVC finally entered our info. It's a good b-day present for the wifey as today is her birthday. Hopefully we can get through NVC in 3 weeks.

Should be, try to call once it hits a week to ask the case status. By calling and talking to operator I found out wayyy sooner that I had a minor RFE. If you wait on their emails, well ... So call every once in a while, see what the status is and i'm sure it'll be over in no time!

Hi Everyone,

I have a quick q. I sent in my I-864 and DS-230 packages last Thursday, and today when I called the NVC number, the automated message said that my case was completed on 10/26!! Kind of surprised, that was really quick..but I spend a lot of time preparing it and it was super super organized. lol

My q is, should I call NVC about an interview date? Or, do I just wait for some kind of notification from them? I've read on here that they assign interview dates the 2nd week of every month...so do I just call then?

Also, does anyone know how much time would it take for the Chennai Embassy...? I was thinking like 2 months?

Thanks a lot!! :)

when you have a date, you can always reschedule at your own embassy! Thats how I fell into October instead of November!

Very crazy isn't it? All this waiting we have been doing is finally coming to an end!

Wow, next week that's very nice! Even If we get approved next week I'm still going to have to wait a month for Kinnari to arrive to the USA. My Dad and Sis-in-law are leaving for India next week and coming back middle December so we'll most likely have her come back with them so she has someone traveling with her and it gives her family and my family a bit of security that she is going to make it home ok. :)

I soo wish I could be as lucky as some of you that are able to travel to bring your spouses home... my dag on school schedule just makes it downright impossible for it.

My finals fall right on that day she is supposed to arrive in the USA as well... depending when my finals exam schedule is put out in the next couple weeks will I see if I can pick her up...I sure it hope it works out... Whatever happens that day I will see her at the airport or at home... but I want to be there for her first steps on US Soil!
