A big congrats to you! how did you find out?

I hope I get my approval soon and interview date before October 31st. I would like to be home before that, otherwise I'll have to miss my husband again due to Army. Good luck to you, 'home' is close now!

NVC or DOS.

At the time I called NVC's computers were down, they told me call back in 30 min. I was way too anxious to find out so I called DOS and the operator there told me the date.

It's unfortunate that we did not get an earlier interview date, but just like the U.S. India is packed with holidays towards the end of the year. I'll take what I can get.

Good Luck to you Lytha!

I am the USC so I will not be interviewing. My wife will be. I was super stressed and nervous but after getting a date and educating myself of the process I am not as stressed as I once was.

I literally just talked to my wife about all the medical and other police clearance cert we need. She is getting it done early so she has time to prepare for the interview. We are just happy to have a date to count down to and no dates to count up to... :)

You have to have some serious red flags for them to outright deny you or lifetime banning you from ever getting a visa to the USA.

You might be put on Administrative Processing asking for more evidence and they will look further into your case. This happens to a lot of people.

You should have nothing to worry about. If your relationship is genuine, you have a clean record and your relationship was not forced to obtain improper immigration benefits into the USA, you have nothing to worry about.

Well that all is not the case, we love eachother, and can't wait to start our lives in the US. Right now the hubby is almost here in BE with me for 2 months, evidence enough i'd think :)i cant wait to hear from acceptance of files or approval to move on and have 'some' peace lol :)

Does anyone know what we can do when the NVC goes beyond the "15 biz days" they tell us to wait?

Technically, they did not fully "process" our original ds-230 - they neglected to enter the military record.

NVC realized the missing data on Aug 30, blamed it on us, and now have bought themselves another 15 biz days.

Phone rep Jean figured it all out on Friday (what a sweetheart), but now AVR says there was an RFE sent Sept 2.

I am trying to figure out what tactic to take when I call at 7:30AM EST on Tuesday.

How do I hold NVC accountable for NVC clerical ommission from >15 biz days, and motivate someone to fetch the case file from records and settle it??

Well, I called NVC and it turns out that USCIS approved my petition on 7-23. I didn't find out until 9-2. So that means I was in the dark for about 6 weeks.

I'm sure those 6 weeks of unnecessary stress will cut 6 weeks from the end of my life! Haha

And by the way, USCIS website still says I'm under "Initial Review"!
