I called the NVC again tonight (like I said I would after last night's patronizing statement from the about next week). Still no case number but at least there were no patronizing statements again, just the standard in the building and 10-20 business days to enter into the system.

Hang in there... it's gotta be any day now!

Yes it is 7 - 9 business days. However I just saw two recent posts where approvals were made in 3 business days - not sure if it is a flash in the pan or going to be the new norm.

oh great. I did NOT need to hear THAT. 3 business days? I mean... great for them, but... our family is still waiting since the RFE ds-230 arrived at NVC mailroom on Aug 16th. It shoudl not take 24 hours to enter ONE field of data. grrrrrr... and no, I will not cheer up. I am in a stinky mood. grrrrrrr....

What name did you use in I-130! If it is with her maiden name (old name), then use her name (new name) as per the new passport in DS-230 and file bio-pages from both passports - also include an explanation letter). Visa is issued as per the name in DS-230 (DS-230 is the visa application). Please remember that the name on the Visa must match the name on the new Passport else you will have issues at POE.

In I-130 and all other forms her new name (name after marriage) is used. Only wherever Maiden name was asked, we had specified her maiden name. DS-230 too has her new name, but DS-230 has entry for maiden name as well, so her old name is also specified in DS-230, like any other forms filled so far.

Since she got new passport, her old passport in invalid now and I read somewhere biographic page of Valid passport of Beneficiary. Don't know how authentic that is though.no0pb.gif

So my IV bill is now in 'PAID' status. Already mailed AOS package before. Before I mail DS-230, I have some questions/concerns:

I have lived in India, US and Hong Kong (current). For Police certificate, I already have one from India. No need for US. For HongKong though, the rule is that police authority issues and directly sends to consulate. To apply, they require that I have a letter from nvc etc. asking for police certificate. Does NVC send a checklist for DS-230 ? So far I have not received anything other than the AOS and IV invoices. So not sure if I should ask NVC for a checklist (email?).

Can use not use your NOA2 to get PCC from Hongkong! I used NOA1 itself to get PCC from Kuwait. Hope Hongkog doesn't insist on an interview letter.

I am thinking that you will get interview letter with the packet 4 requirement of a PCC from Honkong to be submitted at VFS (before interview date) or at Interview.

Very Nice Shanna. You have a good shot of finishing before this month is out. It took NVC 4 days to process and accept my IV packet once they had it in their possession.

Don't bother calling the operators now. They can't tell you anything until you get SIF. Keep checking the sign in page and once it fails, call the operators to verify you case is complete.

Our DS-3032 was accepted by NVC on friday 8/26 ... Just patiently waiting to be able to pay our IV fee. I dont usually see much NVC action on mondays but it would be great if they could kindly invoice that for me today! Should have all packets mailed to NVC by Friday! WOO HOO!!!

I did call and play dumb like I didnt know what I am supposed to do next and the lady said I have done everything right and since the DS-3032 was accepted last Friday that at some point today or tomorrow the IV bill will be generated! Thanks NVC!

DIVORCE: final May 2015 - never whould have married without dating in-person for at least a year.
