I was approved on the 24th of June...it feels like years ago due to this. If the pace was going like it should, I bet I would have been right about done with NVC this week. :(

I know - THAT is what just gets me mad. we should be done with NVC by now.

And yes, I think yours should stay ahead of ours, but we have both seen this process is arbitrary. I am just happy the batch got sent.

Yes. I agree.

I don't know about your embassy/consulate. But, Mumbai is super busy and it usually schedules interviews 50 days in between NVC case complete to interview date...

So, if we were done this month... She could have been here at the end of September.... :(

Thanks

I forgot to ask an important question.. when we started filing, we thought we would get approved much later and that's why I booked a 2 1/2-month-trip to the Philippines, to spend time with my family and visit my mom-in-law before moving to my husband. I'll fly early august and hope someone knows the answer.

Since we did all the paperwork with an attorney (because of my visa waiver overstay last year and another thing that happened before I left) I just wanna send all the stuff needed from me for the NVC to my hubby.. so did I miss anything important?

  • Biographic page of my passport
  • police clearance certificate
  • original international birth certificate
  • passport pictures

And also, will I get anything via mail to my address anytime soon? (I'm the beneficiary.)

Thanks in advance for all the answers! :D

This is the same number I used to speak to a live person when I called a few weeks ago. I don't think there is an actual option to speak to a customer service person, so I just chose the option that said I wanted to hear more about expediting my case and was able to speak to someone from there. The next day I was approved, so maybe the call actually prompted them to look at my case. I don't know if there is any rhyme or reason to their processes though.

I have been calling daily and also e-mailed them when my 15 days were up.

Today I received an e-mail (about 15 min ago) that my case is in their system. I do not know if this means that they have received the file or it's actually been scanned and input into their system. I am unable to call until the evening to confirm this.

I also called last night and they told me that it is in the building but not in their system yet.
