I like your idea of having the envelopes addressed and ready to go - today the kids & I went shopping for large envelopes and address labels

questions re assmebling AOS & IV papers:

1) are you going to put NVC-ID on each page of supporting documents? I have been tryig to figure out how to do this without damaging originals. Stickers, maybe?

2) how should the originals be bound together? big office clamp? 3 years of tax transcripts is big, and I know those are supposed to be stapled. Not sure how to bundle the police records, etc. Sheet protectors in a folder?

Timing is of the essence, and I don't want a last-minute fumble due to adrenaline. I also don't want to over-package and slow NVC down.

I usually go with a paper clip or binder clip to bind everything together, but I think a binder and plastic sheets is overkill they will just throw that stuff away. I just tried to keep my table of contents clear in my cover letter and put the items in order.

What I am doing is paper clipping all of the documents together as in the original and the photocopy. Then for the whole file I will be putting two binder clips on the top. For the AOS packet I will be stapling the IRS Tax transcripts and then binder clipping the entire package.

In terms of writing the NVC number. I will be writing it in pencil on all the orignial documents and since my wife's Birth Certificate is literally in the crumbling stages..lol, I will write it on a post-it note and on the back just in case it gets detached from the rest of the file.

Well after a crazy past few days I officially have my RFE completed. By the time I got the email from our adjusator it was already past 8pm in my hubby's country so I had to wait until the next morning when the photo places opened again. (Which was midnight my time ;-)) Thursday I had them printed and overnighted them with early morning delivery and they arrived yesterday at 10:23am.... Next stop.. Approval land!!! Woo hoo!!

Still waiting on NVC to get my file from CIS and enter it into the system... Yesterday was 2 weeks...I am hoping they get it next week sometime. I want to be out of NVC by the end of August!

Wow you have been waiting on that for a while. I really want to be through NVC by the end of the month also. Im ready to start planning my next overseas adventure! Im so glad we did our honeymoon a few weeks ago. A week long visit then another 2 month wait.. The never ending story of our lives lol

There are quite a few of us that got approved around the time I did that have yet to get their case number. CSC is much slower than VSC in terms of this step it seems.

I have a feeling it's already there sitting in a pile with a bunch of other files as well. I bet they have been swamped due to the holiday. If I don't hear anything by thursday of next week I will be sending an e-mail out with my NOA 2 and asking them to locate it.

It was a joke last night as when I called the lady said..."Oh, it's only been 10 days...call back in 2-3 weeks... "

I feel your pain. Imagine trying to explain to 5 kids (4yr - 14 yr old) that their dad isn't here because the application is sitting on a pile for 3 weeks. This does not a good object lesson regarding procrastination. Excellent lesson in redundant systems and process flow inefficiencies.

I can't imagine that scnerio that you just layed out at all. Your a strong woman!

K3 used to be a faster process. Now, it's about the same as IR-1/CR-1.

The good thing about IR-1/CR-1 is that you when you are done, you have a green card and it's much cheaper than K3.

K3 you have to file for Adjustment of Status when you enter into the country and that's another $1000+ that you have to pay for on top of the K3 processing fee's already.

Expedite: I requested, but never got an official answer. I am not sure the fax'd request letter will accompany the petition to NVC or not.

Order of petitions: I hope the woman at peril in Pakistan gets hers first. Hehe - new TV reality show: "America Grants Visas."

I think when it comes to missing our spouses, on a scale of 1 to 10, all VJ'ers are at a 10. At home with the 5 kids, however, it feels like "10" times 6.

Still no NVC number,, but what's there to complain for when the first 'wait' didnt even take as long as we expected ...

My husband is coming to my homecountry soon, we'll be completing the rest of the paperwork from hereout!

I cant tell you how happy and blessed I am! And will be married for 4 months tmrw!
