One minor confusion I have now ... Are we suppose to send in all the Original Copies (and not photocopies) to NVC.. e.g. Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificates, PCC etc.

I remember USCIS had explicitly asked to send only photocopies and not original copies.. However I don't see it with NVC.

Yes, NVC wants all originals. No photocopies.

We're approved!!! I just got the NOA2 text and email. I am SO EXCITED to be moving to NVC! I was feeling sorry for myself yesterday because everyone seemed to be getting approved (no offense to those approved smile.gif), so I called USCIS and asked about my case and then today we received the great news! Now I'm sending my good luck out to the rest of you - I hope yours is next.

Depends on if he did not turn anything orginal at the NVC stage. They will want to see it at the interiview.

Overall, I would take anything and everything that you may think they might ask you at the interview.

Leave no room for doubt...

I got the package my wife sent me last week and now I can officially say I am ready for NVC. Now I need to get my case number to begin the process!!!

I like your idea of having the envelopes addressed and ready to go - today the kids & I went shopping for large envelopes and address labels :)

questions re assmebling AOS & IV papers:

1) are you going to put NVC-ID on each page of supporting documents? I have been tryig to figure out how to do this without damaging originals. Stickers, maybe?

2) how should the originals be bound together? big office clamp? 3 years of tax transcripts is big, and I know those are supposed to be stapled. Not sure how to bundle the police records, etc. Sheet protectors in a folder?

Timing is of the essence, and I don't want a last-minute fumble due to adrenaline. I also don't want to over-package and slow NVC down. :)

I usually go with a paper clip or binder clip to bind everything together, but I think a binder and plastic sheets is overkill they will just throw that stuff away. I just tried to keep my table of contents clear in my cover letter and put the items in order.

Yes, actually spouse is Indian citizen but currently living and working in HongKong. So I believe that the visa interview should be in HongKong. USCIS step only took 81 days. that was fast!!

I have been following this forum for a while and wanted to share that we just got our NOA2 in email. We filed on April 15, 2011 and NOA1 was April 19, 2011.

Congratulation

Your I-130 was approved in 293 Days
04/18/2011 Sent in I-130
04/28/2011 NOA 1 Received in the Mail
11/10/2011 Received a REF **Must prove Bona Fide Marital Relationship**
01/03/2012 Sent REF documentation to California Service Center 2079 pages sent to USCIS
01/05/2012 UPDATED CASE STATUS...On January 5, 2012, we received your response to our request for evidence.
02/07/2012 NOA2 I-130 APPROVED

Embassy
06/27/2012 Interview Date
05/12/2012 Medical done in Lahore
06/272012 DENIED AT THE INTERVIEW 212(A)(5a) ***this code is incorrect*** We have no idea why they denied the visa!

APPEAL PROCESS
08/29/2012 File received back at NVC Embassy and forwarded to CSC
09/10/2012 Received a NOA 1 & Text Message that file was sent to California Service Center where they will make a decision on our case.

05/29/2013 Reaffirmed by USCIS without any appeal process

Embassy

07/02/2013 The Embassy called my husband for packet 3.

07/11/2013 My husband sent in packed 3

07/17/2013 Embassy refused our case yet again without an Interview and set our file back to NVC

07/20/2013 NVC returned out file to USCIS

09/29/2013 To date USCIS has not entered our case back into the system and no one knows where it is!
