LOL...I bombarded my wife about 2 weeks after I filed the I-130 petition. I can sit back and relax and watch the show now after I get the last set of documents in the mail in the new week or so.

Hey, I have a question about filling out the I-864.

I am the petitioner so I will be filling out the I-864, but I do not have enough income to show for the past 3 years because I was in graduate school so I am having my father's income added to mine. I live with my father and mother, so I know that my father needs to fill out the I-864A, but they file their taxes jointly so does my mother need to fill out an I-864A as well? I don't want her to be liable for the beneficiary so I was hoping to avoid including her, but I believe she has to be counted in the household size so I don't know what to do. Can someone give me some insight?

Hey, I have a question about filling out the I-864.

That is correct that Dad will have to fill out I-864a Shanna.

What you want to do here is put your fathers name as the ONLY joint sponsor on the I-864A form. When you send in the Tax Transcripts, 1040's etc. You need to send BOTH Mom and Dad's W2's so the reviewing officer can break the income apart from the joint tax return so he can understand how much the Joint Sponsor (Dad) is making.
