I hear ya... I just called NVC.

Nothing yet. I am thinking either late this week or early next week we'll get something.

Yeah, the operator told me that they assign interview dates during the second week of each month and that Prem's interview would be in October so I'm pretty happy to have made it. She said that both Prem and I would receive an email from NVC in the second week of Sept. letting us know the date. Little Noah Prem is doing really well. He is going to be one month old tomorrow and I can't believe it's going so fast! He is my little sunshine and Prem gets to see him on skype a couple times a week.

I'm so happy we will all be together again soon. I bet you are missing Kinnari so much!

It is accepted. You will get the IV fee bill in 2 - 3 days. You will also get email.

The petition is for my husband, who is from Chennai, India. He lived in UK from 05 -07. So do you think he needs a Police certificate from both UK and India? Or just from India? Also, read somewhere that if you've been outside of your Country, you need a police certificate from both the passport office and the police dept? Is that true...?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

Yes you MUST get a police certificate from everywhere that you have lived since the age of 16 (I'm pretty sure about the age)Hopefully someone else can confirm the age too

He needs PCC from Local Police in UK, PCC from Passport office in India, which issued him the passport, Local Police in India, where he stayed after attaining the age 16 onwards. I am also Chennai bound and had submitted Kuwait PCC along with Passport PCC and Local Police PCC.

Today 9-1-2011, the AVR said the checklist items have been received.

When can we expect to get a SIF?

Also, based on our timeline, is there any chance of us getting an October Interview Date?

Should he be on the safe side and get one for Japan too or it's not necessary? Who would I call for more info on this? The NVC?

First there isn't going to be any SIF anymore. The AVR and Operators yesterday sadi nothing yet to me but today both gave me CC. So just keep checking the AVR is my advise.

Yes, he doesn't need one from Japan.

You should be able to get an October date I would imagine. When Ben and I scheduled his interview, it was only three weeks away from the date we scheduled. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you both.

Keep in mind that CR-1 interviews are scheduled by the NVC based on what the Embassy tells them they have available, the poster of the post you quoted will not be involved in the scheduling of the interview.

Just called NVC and got the news "My Case is now Completed !!!!"

Though the operator told me that, there might not be enough slots open for October interview for Mumbai, hence I was asked to call back in a week. I really hope we get an interview date in October .

Like some other people here, I did not get a false SIF either on payment portal site (I had got one earlier though, before even my bills were generated) !!

Also, one weird thing, My AVR message still goes something like - "NVC has assigned *** case number. Packet containing documents and information has been sent on 25th Aug. If this letter is not received by an agent within 6 weeks please press some key". - I have received no letters/packets from NVC so far. All I have received is EMAILS only.

I am not sure whether I should have received letter/packets for DS-2030, I-864 and DS-230 !!! Does any one know??? The last letter I got was from USCIS - i.e. NOA2 - Please let me know if you know anything about this.
