I wish you the best... I think it'll be good with all the information our friends here gave you. I've also heard it's really important to bring the NOAs you already have... I'm doing the same in July, but I have a question... Can we go under the Waiver (aka ESTA certification) or do we need to apply for a different visa?

I'll keep fingers crossed for you and the rest of us who are in this process..

Ps: It really doesn't make any sense that they think we might stay in the country "illegally" while we're waiting for a visa.

Again, good luck!

Hi all,

So we've been tracking our petition ever since we got the NOA2. It's been 6 weeks and nvc have no idea where it is. We got the congress office involved and they are chasing uscis and nvc for information. At first we decided to wait it out but we've now decided to meet up..only this time, I am off to US.

I have my ESTA thing sorted. Tickets are booked and we're really just hoping for the best. It's only a 2 weeks visit but any time with him would be good. Here's the issue. I need advice on pre entry clearance. I know I have to prove my ties to UK but I also know my situation isn't the best. I start work next week so that's the employment thing sorted but it's only a temp job so I don't know if it proves any kind of tie. Also, I have no mortgages or bills..all I have is a student loan that needs to be paid when I start earning above a certain threshold. Obviously, I have the k1 in process and I would have to return for the medical and interview so I know I have no intentions of staying there and committing immigration fraud but I have to convince them of this. My question is, given all the above, is there anything else I can tell the POE officer to show that I will return?

Thank you! I am quite excited as this is the first time I am going. Haven't told his mum yet, she'll be so happy when she finally gets to meet me.

One last thing..I wear a hijab as I am a muslim. Does this increase my chances of being questioned? I mean, I don't look like a 't' :(

Lol exactly..i've waited this long for a k1, why would I want to mess up the whole thing at this stage? I am going under the waiver..don't think we need a separate/different type of visa

I am going to do exactly the same thing as you on sunday. we've been apart for 8 months now and felt it was worth it as we are still in the process. good luck and when are you going?

Ahh best of luck to you  I leave in May. Let us know how it goes and what questions you're asked. We've been apart since february but I am actually losing hair thanks to the stress caused by the k1.

I think you'll be fine. I've visited my husband when he was my boyfriend/ fiance and husband and i've never even been asked for anything but my return ticket and what his job is. I don't have a job here but i do leave my son with my parents while i go visit and I always get my mum to write me a letter saying he's at school there and when they're returning to work etc.. If you have any doctors appointment letters or repeat prescriptions take them with ya as proof as well. I think you'll be fine and I can't see why they judge you on the way you look. I'm going back for a 2 week visit on the 29th too :) Good luck :D

I wish you best of luck on your trip. Hopefully I will be there when you let us know how it all goes for you :) Good luck to you as well!

Has anybody entered with an NOA2 already? My fiance entered in after our NOA1 but I heard somewhere that it is not good to enter in with an NOA2. Correct???? Not sure but we should hopefully be getting our NOA2 in a few weeks as it is 5mo (no promises as I am finding out) but he is going to come in June so we will most likely have it by then. When he came a few months ago, POE was LAX and he had no problems at all, they didn't even ask for evidence, even though he still had it. Thanks for the help.

Can you please keep me posted as well? My fiance will be coming to visit in May as well. She has a part time job as a cashier in a small grocery store and she's also a student at the University. She'll have those papers with her as well as a copy of the NOA1. Hopefully that'll be all she needs :)

Are you entering on a Visiting Visa or the Visa Waiver Program?
