This is why I've said before that the long wait for NOA2 is a blessing in disguise and I'm sure that the USCIS sees it as a means to filter out non-serious applicants.

This way it's better to end the relationship now rather than later when there is much more added complexity.

However, I must also say that I remember reading that this same exact thing has happened to you once before. In which case, I would imagine that some self reflection is in order. Furthermore, "a dream of a Russian wife" is probably not the best way to approach a relationship. If the relationship develops naturally and she is of X nationality, then there are means to overcome geographic differences. But the should be a secondary goal.

With that said, it's obvious that you are a dedicated and driven guy and I'm sure that you will have success finding a perfect partner in the future!

Something I learned from a good friend of mine is that the easiest way to get over a girl is to find a new one. I feel for you Al. I too had a similar situation in where my Fiancee of 3.5 years decided she wanted to fall in love with drugs more than she loved me. I will spare you the details, but I did take it very hard and being a former ServiceMember had my PTSD and a high state of depression kick in.

It took me a while, but when I met Emily (I probably went through about 30 girls) I dropped all the ones I was talking to because I felt she was good. When we met in person, I saw my little Barbie sparkling (F)

I no longer regret what happened or how it happened because I am now happy with my girl. Distance is definitely hard and we also have our own trials to face.

Keep your head up brother. In time, you may find the one you were meant to be with. We wish your heart mending to be swift and as painless as possible.

Aloha

After 6 1/2 long agonizing months, I finally got my NOA2. And then two days later, the woman who I thought loved me crushed my life completely.

Goodbye everybody.

Sorry to hear that, this story happens way too often on these long distance relationships. You know, a ton of things creep up in their imaginations. There are a ton of reasons that they could have freaked out, or even mess with you on purpose.

I know this is tough to take at a time like this, but things like this happen for the best. Could you imagine her being in this country and acting like that with you here? Its not worth it.

The key is two way communication, and working with each other to keep the lines open. If someone can express her feelings to you, and you to her you've got a much better chance of the relationship working. There are plenty of women in the US, who don't require Visas.

Good luck!

NOA1 - 12/21/15

NOA2 - 04/18/16

NVC Receive - 04/29/16

NVC Welcome - 05/13/16

DS-261 - 05/14/16

AOS, IV PAID - 05/27/16

DS260 done - 06/10/16

Case Transferred to US Embassy in Riga Latvia at the end of October.

If you really want it, you'll find a way!

I truly don't know why I keep going back to Russian Women Discussion. It would be a good board except that it is crawling with creeps who are there only to put people down, distort facts, and insult people who make honest mistakes as much as possible. Here, contemptuous creeps like that are not tolerated, as Katheryne and the rest of the very professional moderating team have zero tolerance for the insults, personal attacks, and general contempt that permeate RWD.

Mind you, this is not everyone at RWD. There are some good people there, but there are also some very sick and sadistic pieces of worthless garbage there too, and the latter seem to do most of the posting.

Of course I am not perfect, and I made one large mistake a year and a half ago. I screwed up badly getting to the airport to meet Elena. It was during rush hour, and I was over an hour late. During the time, I was in constant contact with her and gave her status reports every ten minutes or so. The creeps at RWD will tell you I just kept her hanging the entire time, but they are boldfaced liars. It is simply not true.

I know it was my mistake with nobody else to blame. Unlike the pompous buffoons at RWD, I do not pretend to be perfect, nor do I attempt to hide my mistakes nor blame them on anybody else, nor do I blow smoke to obscure my mistakes. The lowlifes at RWD, on the other hand, do this all the time to fool themselves (and apparently each other) into believing that they are perfect.when in reality they are nothing but perfect morons.

But this was ONE mistake a year and a half ago. Despite that, every time I post on RWD about ANYTHING, the creeps chime in for pages and pages without end about how I am totally worthless because I had the audacity to make ONE single mistake. Every positive thing that happened since then is ignored by them as if it never happened. They are so small that they have nothing to write about or post about except for ONE single mistake by me a year and half ago. They even went as far as to dig up that year and a half old thread to take things I posted out of context and distort and twist them around to bolster their boldfaced lies.

So there you have it. I am not the bad person. THEY are the bad people.

A long time ago, I was taught the value of responsibility. You simply do not make a life changing decision that another person depends on to change his or her life and then nine months later say "Ha ha, I was only kidding." Only the most morally bankrupt person would do something that reprehensible. But then, since the creeps at RWD operate at the same lowlife gutter level, I suppose they see what Elena did to me as just fine.

Now that I think about it, I hope that Elena hooks up with one of those creeps and that they make each other's lives the worst living hell they can possibly imagine. They both richly deserve it.

I dis-agree, anyone in a relationship has the right to back out at anytime.. If you don't understand that, you should not be involved with anyone much less doing a Visa Petition...

That's one of the risks of life... She must have seen something about you that she simply couldn't live with... Your opinion about being locked in once the K1 app is started is the reason I am suspicious and likely one of the things that scared her...

wow...this is one thread I don't think I expected.

AL- all the same, none of us know either of your situations. Although I haven't always agreed with your posts, you and everyone on here deserve happy lives full of love, kindness and respect. I hope you find that in your future.

There is something to be said about keeping your relationship in real life private and off the message boards... I hope we can appreciate respecting people's privacy and not getting involved or judgmental about things we aren't directly involved in.

Thank you all for your respect and encouragement and not assuming you know everything, unlike certain people at RWD.

I still have a hard time believing that it is acceptable to make a life changing decision that you know is going to be a life changer for another person that he will build his life and world around, and then tell that other person, 9 months after making that decision and after 2 1/2 years of proclaiming your love for that person on a daily basis, "Ha ha, only kidding".. That is moral bankruptcy at the most extreme level.

To be honest, I don't think leaving someone at an airport for 2 hours is that big of a deal.

Sure it's a bit of a screw up, but it's lunacy to suggest that it could've wrecked your entire relationship. What was it, late 2009? Some people on that site seem more than a little unhinged. Nobody's beyond a f--k up. It's whether you care enough to make it up to a person that matters.

+1

It obviously didn't wreck your relationship then, it was ages ago. There's no point in people bringing that one error up again and again - it has no bearing on the current situation. Nobody's perfect and sometimes things do happen to get in the way of your plans - even with the best intentions things sometimes go wrong. Some of the people on that RWD site do seem pretty crazy, really

Al's got good taste, although this one maybe slid under his crazy radar. There is something very charming about Slavic girls. Czech, Polish, Slovak, Russian it's all good.
