Hello,

I made a mistake on the 129f and put Shanghai as Embassy my fiancé will go to. It is actually Guangzhou. Do I need to change this? How? Also, Lili's proof of birth and divorce certificate are in Chinese. Does this need to be translated into English and notarized? Finally, Lili is a member of the CCP. However, this is only for work and her employee wanted her to join. What is needed here? Just updated resume and letter of explanation for the membership?

Thanks,

Matthew

If you haven't yet sent your I-129F, go ahead and change it from Shanghai to Guangzhou.

Divorce certificate does need to be translated. Birth certificate needs to be translated too but that is not needed until the file reaches the Consulate. Additionally, translated documents that you submit to the Consulate will need to come from the Notary Office where your fiancee's Hukou is.

CCP will not be dealt with until the interview. You will find extensive discussion about CCP and what to expect as well as how to prepare on this site here. From what I have seen others post, AP is automatic for CCP membership.

Already sent the 129f in........what should I do? Who do I contact to correct?

From your another post later, your finacee already was interviewed at Guangzhou Consulate last December. So I think it does not matter with the error on 129f.

NVC will route it to Guangzhou. I wouldn't worry about it.

Hello,

I made a mistake on the 129f and put Shanghai as Embassy my fiancé will go to. It is actually Guangzhou. Do I need to change this? How?

As the poster above mentioned, this shouldn't be a problem. In fact, I made the same mistake (although I wrote Beijing since that's the one with jurisdiction over my area). I called DOS and they said they couldn't make any changes over the phone. I asked if it mattered and was told "I don't know. It may, or may not." (Very helpful advice!) So I decided to "play it safe" and mailed a letter following my I-129F submission to explain the mix-up. I don't think they ever got it though because on my NOA2 they still listed Beijing as my consulate/embassy. Also, the notification letter that the case went to (or out of?) NVC was sent sent first to Beijing then I saw on the envelope that the Beijing embassy had it re-routed to Guangzhou and finally to me. So, that mail came very late but it wasn't important and everything ended up working out fine (did not slow down the process either). Wouldn't worry about it.
