Hello there, May be somebody can help me here,

this is the situation: I'm ready to send the I-129f application, everything is in the package, but I happend to live in a apartment condo where my contract is due at the end of the month, and I have to move out.

My friend ask me to move in with him, but i'm a little bit worry because he is also working with a K-1 visa petition and his girl is just waiting for her interview.

My question is: since Im going to live there with him, will I have problems if we both have the same address?, will that affect me in any way?, I don't really have another place to go for now. I did apply for another apartment and they aproved it, but is not going to be ready until the end of the year, what can I do? they ask in the I-129F form, where is my fiance gonna live when she gets there, should I use the same address?

I really apreciate your help thanks,

MM

Your address is your address, despite the coincidence that you are both applying for K-1 benefits.

Perhaps you should consider a "more permanent" address for the correspondence from USCIS, such as a parent or relative that lives nearby?

Especially, if you may move again within the next few months. You don't want to have USCIS documents lost out there.

This happened to us. I was basically a "squatter" when I started the K1 process, in the process of getting a job and an apartment. This was brought up at my fiance's interview, that they can't approve his visa without a permanent residence to send him to. At that time I had signed a lease for my apartment even though I wasn't living there yet. It was still under construction. The Embassy gave him a 221g and requested a copy of my lease which we gave them. They were satisfied with that.

Just be aware they do like to see you have solid permanent residence.

just_waiting,

Excellent point.

OP, take the advice and produce a "permanent" address.

Do you have any relatives nearby?

I would not use a PO box, as that smacks of deception. Stability is key to this process.

Follow the advice already provided. Up to you though.

Sorry, should have clarified.

Use a PO Box for your current mailing address on your I-129 (to receive your NOAs), but use a physical permenent address on your G325, and for the address where your fiance will live once he arrives, even if it's only temporary for now. You can always submit an address change if you move between now and then.

I've had the same PO Box for two years now, used it as my mailing address on my I-129, and received my NOA no problem.

6/29 - NEW I-129 mailed to CSC

7/21 - NOA1 issued

9/21 - finally ... my first touch!!

9/21 - NOA2 issued

I am with that way of thinking.

With this approach, you win in both scenarios.

Good call, wanthimhere

Sorry Dude, But worrying about an address when you wont have a place to live. And worrying about where your Fiance will stay? Seems like you may have difficulties witht the I-134 Financial Form showing your yearly income and assetts? Sorry to point out an obvious but you got some finacial planning to do first!!!! Then bring your Fiance home and all will be good :D

Marleo,

This question of where your fiance(?) is going to live in the USA is not particularly important at this point. You could put your present address, your friend's address, simply city and state, or 'to be determined - I expect to be moving prior to visa issuance' or something similar. Whatever suits your sensibility.

What is important at this point is that you provide a mailing address where you can be assured of receiving any mail sent to you from the USCIS. Perhaps either a PO Box or your friend's address (have your name showing on the friend's mailbox) would be best for that.
