A poll-surging Donald Trump has pulled into first place for the Republican nomination in 2012, tying for the top slot with Mike Huckabee, a stunning new CNN survey shows.

The poll released Tuesday reveals that the New York developer has almost doubled the amount of support he had a month ago. Some 19 percent of Republicans and GOP-leaning independents said their current choice is Trump, along with another 19 percent who said they would back Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor.

In a number that confirms the continuing slide of Sarah Palin's political stock, the former Alaska governor is a distant second place, at 12 percent, while Mitt Romney gets 11 percent, tied with Newt Gingrich for third place.

Interviews with 824 adult Americans conducted by telephone by Opinion Research Corporation on April 9-10, 2011. The margin of sampling error for results based on the total sample is plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.

So taking into account the MoE, Trump/Huckabee could be as low as 15.5% amd Romney could be as high as 14.5%. Dude is behind even after giving him the most generous MoE deviations.

I'll just have to say it: The GOP is one fcuked up bunch if this is the best they can do. The Huck and The Donald? Really? No adults there at all?

You might be on to something. You would think a potted plant could beat Obama in November, 2012, but It appears the Republicans insist on proving me wrong.
