Yep

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Wow. Just wow. I sat and read through all 8 pages of this, it's like a train wreck but I couldn't look away.

Dude, please think of your children. They don't deserve the sort of life you'll be giving them if you make more bad decisions out of desperation. The U.S. is not an option right now, and Canada isn't either. Go home and salvage what you can from there.

I personally think that your Lawyer is taking you for a long long ride. Clearly there is no hope for this case you're in, the best option is to just leave and hope that your children return in the future so THEY can continue their lives in the USA.

Unfortunately, the $60,000+ bill, will be all you have achieved from this situation so far.

The only thing I can think of you to do, is to pack up and go back to India. Think about how MUCH you have sacrificed, just to stay in the US. Is it worth it? The money, your health and families health. Please for the sake of you, your wife and your children. Consider moving back home as soon as possible. If this Ombudsman doesn't work, don't try again. Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off, accept your losses and leave. do NOT pay that woman ANOTHER cent of your money. NO ONE should be charged that extortionate amount of money for legal aid.

Again, good luck. In the future.

2005: Met my wife online, "Habbo Hotel" instantly became friends.

2007: Lost contact with her, as we both lived thousands of miles away.

2010: Regained contact with her, again instantly became best friends.

~At this point we'd talked about visiting the others country~

Thank you all for the great responses... I gave up on life and I compleltly forgot about this site...Yes I will leave sooner or later before my son turns 18...and yes it's a ombudsman...I can't believe how my lawyer sounds so convincing about this case like Im shaken..All the people on this site are telling me I have no hope but the way the lawyer talks, it's like im going to get the green card but again these lawyers are made to make money...She said she is going to file a Writ of Mandamus? Will that help? im just curious... REALL THANK YOU SO MUCH SO MANNY SUPPORTIVE PEOPLE HERE.

AND I WAS WONDERING...Since my lawyer says that my work permit cannot be renewed, I heard from many people you can? She isn't even trying to renew it..Should I just print out the papers to renew the Workers Permit and try to renew them myself?

I think you need to f=go back and re read te previous replies, it has all been said before, repeatedly.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

This has been said time and time again, and you refuse to listen. You are way too far in denial.

Your lawyer can NOT help you, she's stringing you along and taking your money. You need to think of your children and leave.

Of course, you still won't listen to this, and come back like a month from now to post about the next asinine thing your lawyer claims to want to do for you that will surely help... :bonk:

Godhelpme - nothing positive will happen unless you do something about it. You haven't done anything different other than listening to a lawyer who is wasting your time and money. It's time to make some tough decisions and act upon them. You are a grown up man, aren't you?We don't want to read anything about that lawyer's stupid and worthless strategies anymore. We want to see that you are moving on, based on a realistic plan. That would be something I call "positive".
