Packet 3 mailed to US address too? They said "no" :-(

I just called the 7034392313 number and asked if they will send me a copy of Packet 3 in the US and the said "no"! I'm quite worried because my fiance's mail service is very bad. I was counting on it being sent to my US address and DHL-ing it to him for his interview. He will NEVER receive Packet 3 if it is only sent to his Mexican address.

I've seen that others have received a copy in the US. I'm really hoping that the person answering my question was mistaken, though he did go ask his supervisor.

Has anyone else heard that they are no longer sending copies of Packet 3 to the US?????? :-(

I believe it is a mistake, since everyone I have spoken to says they recieved the copy IN THE USA, don't worry!

We have 2 people on the forum who just came thru Juarez so I will ask them just to double check.

This was something that worried me as well since mail delivery is basically non-existent in parts of Mexico...bummer huh?

Makes me appreciate our postal service more everyday!

My fiance is in Haiti and they have pretty much NO mail service. I emailed the US Embassy and within a couple of days they emailed me back letting me know that they received my papers from the National Visa Center and also attached packet 3 in the email for me and said I will also be getting a hard copy in the mail. So I just forwarded the email to my fiance in Haiti and he printed it out. So maybe try contacting them through email and see if it can be sent that way. It's worth a try and you will never know until you try! :) I hope that helps!

Don't worry. The people at the 703# don't know what they are talking about sometimes. I called before and one person said "I never heard of the letter being mailed to the US fiance in the US." But I called yesterday and asked, "what carrier do they use to mail the letter to the US?" The person kind of stumbled at the question and put me on hold and went to ask. He came back and said it was standard US mail. He said I could track the status of the packet to my fiancee in Mexico if I have her passport #. He said it was sent through DHL. I did not have the number on hand at the time, so I called the number again today. The guy said it cannot actually be tracked because it is sent through regular Mexican mail and not DHL. Looks like they need to really get their facts together.

Anyways the same person today said again that each of us will get a copy of the packet 3. In addition I have emailed the US consulate in Juarez through their public inquiry forum a few times and each time they said that it is mailed to both the fiancee in Mexico and the USC. They even explicitly wrote out her and address and mine in the email. They tend to be more reliable and consistent with their answers since they are directly from the consulate. Just remember that the people at the 703# do NOT work at the consulate. Its more of a visa help line for Mexico and the people there are probably just given an overview of the process and only know how to answer basic procedural questions.

I hope this helps you. You should get it in the mail as well. With some people from the 703# telling me this, the consulate consistently saying this, and the recent ones from the forum receiving it in the US, more than likely you will receive it to.

That's great Thaiv! Did you schedule appointment by using website or by phone?

I did it on the website and there were no difficulties. The only weird thing is you schedule the consular interview before seeing the dates of the ASC interview. ASC should go first so you would think that would come up first.

The letter I got was actually mailed from El Paso and they mailed it about a week later after CDJ sent the packet 3. I received it in two days after their postmarked date. In other words I received it in a total of 9 days after CDJ sent the packet 3.
