Hi.. another quick question.. I am on the phase of preparing documents for interview.

they ask for divorce decree from petitioner the certified copies and photocopies of the original document. is it necessary to give them the certified copies while they already have it on the packet from NVC? certified copies was our RFE. they need it again??

how if i just have the photocopies of the divorce decree?

I had the same REF on CSC I pay for 6 Copies from the court on my divorce just in case . I m runing 2 petitions at the same time. I know that Im CR1 and you are K-1 however my advice is to get original seal documentes from the court .Just to avoid delays .As of today that my wife documents are in transit to the NVC they have origina seal documents from the family court and she still have a couple for the interview date.

Good Luck

Sorry to jump in this thread, since I originally did not ask this question. What exactly does it mean certified copy of divorce decree. All I have is a 20 page documents with judge signature. Basically everything that was settled in my divorce. Do I have to get a "special certified copy" from the court house? Again sorry for jumping on this thread, but I would like this answered as well.

Theoretically, you only have one original of your divorce decree. A "Certified True Copy" is simply a copy of your divorce decree which is stamped and embossed with the courthouse's seal. You can get the certified true copy from the courthouse you filed your divorce for a nominal fee. I got 3 copies myself at $15.00 per copy. One copy I sent with the I-129F, one copy for my I-129F duplicate, and one for future use. I hope this helps...yes.gif
