Then there are those of us who wish they could buy two at a time on a six month trial basis and full refund with the unlimited option to do it again, and again and again....

That would be the Latin America, Mexico & the Caribbean forum....you just have to keep it in the family....how many of your wife's cousins can you go through in a lifetime? But, sorry, no cash refunds.... :P

Other than the cost... what's stopping you?

Well said, PI guy.

The cost.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

No man, si man...

Indignant women from the UK and Canada regionals to arrive to get angry at Why Me in 1...2...3....
God, is this funny, and potentially accurate, si man...

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

####### just happened here?

All the sudden this turned into an OT thread where people are making generalizations and being told to back it up with statistical facts and links to studies. You guys do realize we're in the RUB forum, right?

eekee hit the nail on the head. A dude coming from here and going over there is generally going to "level up" and a dude from over there coming here could probably care less. That is the fact of the matter. Is it true in every single case, ONA? No. But, generally speaking (or 9 out of 10 times) it is. It's not bad, good or ugly - it is what it is.

And Some Old Dude, you geezers who adopt wives from the PI are basically store-brand RUBbers. It's not that some men in the US have problems finding what they want, it's that some have decided they're willing to buy the good stuff. Why shop at the dollar store searching every single shelf for that deal when you can go on Amazon and order exactly what you want? I don't think the men in this - or the PI - forum have had any problems finding a woman they want. I think we've just made up our minds that we're not big fans of bullsh!t, especially from women.

We have visitors to this forum that remind me there are wonderful American women out there and they would be a fine match for me or any other dude here on VJ. But, the vast majority of them remind me why I shopped abroad.

Thanks Slim. I neeeded that. If ALL people were like you, I could go to meetings.

Not just women...men also. And men acting like women, and women pretending to be men. They will ALL be offended.

I had a few Quebecoise pick my....apples. Not bad at apple picking at all, but not as good as Ukrainian women. (note to ONA: SOME Quebecois are better than SOME Ukrainians at picking apples)

Oh, my God, that's so sweet of you! I would've never understood it on my own.

You know, the context is different here, Gary.

generalizations does not mean "all" and if you were waiting to hear what is obvious to ...well...anyone, I would only ask..."Why?"

Canada is colder than Texas. True.

Is Canada ALWAYS colder than Texas? No.

It is today! :innocent::rofl:

I don't do well in meetings. Much like yourself, I have no time for bullsh!t and I'm not afraid to let the boss know his way of doing things is bullsh!t. Needless to say, I don't go to many meetings.

I was always under the impression sign language was sign language regardless of which country it came from. Boy was I wrong. American Sign Language is what Americans sign. (There's an extra U in many words of British sign language!)

So whether she's deaf or not, she'll still "speak" a foreign language.

The dating patterns in the FSU country's had me very confused.

An example would be a simple sidewalk cafe in Minsk.

1) Do I make a play on the 5'1" 105lb hot little sexy grey eyed brunette in the mini skirt and stiletto heels ?

2) Do I make a play on the 5'7" 115lb hot sexy green eyed red head in the mini skirt and stiletto heels ?

3) Do I make a play on the 5'11" 125lb hot sexy amazon blue eyed blond in the mini skirt and stiletto heels ?

4) Do I make a play on all three and see if I can get at least two of the three to join me in a threesome ?

5) Did I remember to save that waitresses mobile # from this morning ?

Decisions, decisions!

I missed out on a lot of that. I had already picked and went over as a hunter rather than a gatherer! No regrets at all though. ;)

For the record, I'm a meeting hater too (maybe there's some common thread here amongst RUB men?) I was a software developer in a past life and constantly getting pulled into meetings to hear the suits talk about doing work while keeping me from actually doing said work. I remember going to one long meeting where we discussed in great depth a month long plan for porting a subset of our web app from one platform to another. It was a very nice plan. Afterwards, I invited them to my office to see the whole app which I'd already ported in a couple days.

Wife's visa journey:

03/19/07: Initial mailing of I-129F.

07/07/11: U.S. Citizenship approved and Oath Ceremony!

MIL's visa journey:

07/26/11: Initial mailing of I-130.

05/22/12: Interview passed!
