Okay, who here HASN'T danced the Macarena at someone's wedding or other event?
Macarenas are terribly dry, coconut-flavored, crumbly cookie-type concoctions that are eaten around Passover, gag man. Either that, or Macarenas is a country in North Africa, si man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

The book is terrible literature. I suspect the movie is going to be unwatchable. I don't know why Paul is getting so excited - The Fountainhead was adapted in 1949 and is available on Netflix

Oh, really? I have an old friend who is a diver/seaman, but his name isn't Siman. He is funny as hell though, especially after hitting the sauce.

The books are just terrible - it will make you swear off reading forever.

I read them when I was 12 because I thought it was cool to read books like that. I tried to read them again a few years ago and didn't get very far.

ha, ok, you got me. i still call them that even though they're no longer on tape :blush:

So you think this will have more impact than, say, a Micheal Moore movie? More than a...what's his name? Oh yeah...Al Gore movie? (I forgot his name which is probably what he wants rather than be known for sexually assaulting massage therapists)

I have been a libertarian since before I even knew there was such a thing and never read the book and probably won't see the movie.

It will have -0- affect on politics.

It will have -0- affect on politics.

This movie will be kryptonite for libruls. When we watch it our superpowers will disappear and we will all revert back to our original cockroach form. In fact, I fear conservative friends may invite me over for a movie only to ambush me with this. The good news, of course, is that the cooking is always better in conservative households. Something about a woman who knows her place and good food. They just go together. It'll be fun being a cockroach in a home like that.
