I was in county for a few weeks and on house arrest a few more. All told, I was out of work for about five months.

Most of the taxes paid in this country are paid by the rich. Even if you had no trouble with the law, you are not a high income individual and therefore do not pay much in taxes. Yes, it may seem like a lot to you but that doesn't make it so.

Read my words carefully. I said I paid more than many folks EARNED. We have a HUGE group of folks out there who EARN zero dollars a year and the rest of us pay for their existence.

Quite frankly, I'm fed up with paying for them. I think it's high time they paid for themselves.

I don't disagree. I have a real problem with anyone having zero or negative federal income tax liability.

And here you are looking down your nose at me as "part of the problem" when there are folks out there who paid absolutely ZERO into the system and did nothing but watch cable and reproduce last year. Where's the liberal nose thumbing at that?

You were also responsible for using more than your fair share of tax dollars. The entire cost to arrest, prosecute, incarcerate, and subsequently rehabilitate you from your criminal behavior is borne by the taxpayer. I'm sure the good citizens of Ohio who pay their taxes thank you for that one.

I don't pay a lot of taxes. I pay a lot more than some folks earn.

I was not responsible for that. The complainants (who failed to show up for trial) were responsible.

And the entire cost is not borne by the tax payer. Much of it has been borne by me. If I had no job, it would be borne by the taxpayers. Funny how that works, no? "If you work, you have to pay but if you're unemployed, it's free." How does that make any sense?
