Other countries have immigration processes also (who woulda thunk it?) so it may not be just as easy as that.

The other thing is that if you are considering living there "until he comes here", that's fine if you have some sort of income or support that will continue after you move back, otherwise you will not meet the qualifications for the affidavit of support

Thats what I was originally going to do...move to England, but then my ex husband wouldnt allow my daughter to move there with me...so we are doing the route of bringing him over here. Its insanely hard for us to wait since I am a citizen in both countries, so me moving there to be with him would be an 8 hour plane ride...no waiting.

The things we do for love...

but in many cases the other countries immigration processes aren't nearly as onerous as those of the US. Just by being married to my wife I automatically qualify for a 2 year visa for 180 days which can be extended at the local PSB as needed for longer periods (generally a year).

Yeah we have already talked about this and if, god forbid, we get denied then the next step is for me to move to her country at least in the short term and then decide where we want to live. There are many countries that have very relaxed immigration requirements so there are lots of options. None of them will be easy financially, but immigration wise they will be much easier than what we've gone through already.
