My husband and I both received an email tonight from the NVC...they finally scheduled us for an interview at the Santo Domingo embassy on May 4th....in three weeks. I'm kinda freaking out because it's seriously right around the corner. We submitted everything required, so our case is complete as far as documentation, it's just a matter or bringing the supporting evidence, the medical exam results for him, the passport fotos and the police certificate.

I feel jittery. Anyone ever feel like that? I mean, after all this time apart, we are literally weeks away from really starting our lives as a complete family unit. I am feeling all sorts of emotions. Anyone else experience this?

We are both really happy and excited...relieved. I just feel like there is a lot to do in a small amount of time.

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

Of course! I think many of us felt like this :) I know I did, that's for sure, but then I just melted into a big smile knowing that I was going to be with the love of my life (L)

my interview is on April 18th, next monday! I am very excited too, so I imagine how you are.

I did my medical exam last week, it's easy, your husband does not have to make an appointment for the medical exam, just go to ''consultorio de visas'' with the passport, the first page of the appointment letter and 3 Passport photos. call this number for information about the exam fee, which varies according to sex and age (809 685 1587).

I arrived at 5:15 am and there were about 20 people in line, I was out by 10:30 a.m.

YAY!! Feliciaciones!! Looks like your journey has been quite smooth plus you´ve been on top of things. Good for you! I sent my i-130 packet yesterday and praying for a smooth journey as well. Naturally your nervious but sounds like you have everything ready except the medical, try to relax and get ready to celebrate!!

Thank you for the information about the medical exam. I will be sure to tell him tonight so he can do it soon. :)

I did find the consulate reviews...so thanks to everyone that posted. I'll make sure I bring disposable wipes. :)

I just finished reading all your posts and Im so very happy for all of you. Im also happy to see that the majority of you have gotten an interview date pretty quickly from Sto Dom. That really gives me hope. I called NVC today and they told me that my package was received in DR today. So I was just wondering how long before the interview is scheduled or even put in the system so I can atleast call back in thatb time frame to ask NVC. Im so nervous specially because you know que en santo domingo todo se mueve con dinero and I was hoping that the people at the consulate wouldnt be that way.

Please keep me updated on ur interview experience I would like to know what my fiance and I should get prepared for.

Good luck to all and believe me when i say that im so happy for all of you!

Congratulations amesa AND spades!!! I totally understand the nerves. It was like...up until the interview, there wasn't really a (significant) chance of being denied. Then all of the sudden there (technically) is. Not saying that you will be, but it's scary to go up against that possibility. But try to focus on being excited and well-prepared! Good luck to you!!!
