I called USCIS today...

I actually got a live person on the phone and I told him that I still have not received my IMBRA RFE. He actually said that he would contact the person handling my case to request one be mailed to me. I was really surprised by his response because when I called last month asking the same question, the woman I spoke with only told me to wait for it in the mail. I'm just wondering what anyone else's take is on this - I really didn't think anyone answering phone would be able to do anything more than answer basic questions.

One never knows with these knuckleheads.

With that said, and since they didn't brush you off, they may be telling you the truth. All I can offer is for you to watch the mailbox and check your USCIS account frequently.

Good Luck Steven.

I do hope you get your RFE soon, as i'm hoping all those who came before us get approvals soon.

We are happy to get through another step, that the CSC has our IMBRA reply already, and the phrase "the preliminary processing is completed" really made our day... however, we have a later NOA1 date than yours, and it just isnt' good.

Good luck.. and we hope that phone call you made amounts to some progress! :star:

I really want to know if this worked. I still haven't gotten mine either and seeing that someone got theirs from July tells me something isn't right. If you will tell me what phone number you called also if you get a response I will keep calling the same number tell I can find a helpful person also.

Thanks

Thanks, Gen. Holy cow! I'm seeing that now! I didn't know that people who filed later than me had received the IMBRA RFE. Now I'm wondering what the heck happened that I was overlooked...another hair turns grey...sigh.

cALL BACK A couple times and see if u get the same answer

When we got our RFE 2 in the mail about 3 weeks ago, PJ had to call the service number too because we had some questions about the papers they still were requested from us to send in. For the first time she really had a helpful lady on the phone answering some important questions we had and what she wasn´t able to answer exactly, she really called an officer with CSC. My honey could hear her talking on the other line asking that guy or lady the questions we had and then she told PJ back what they have said. Don´t know why they don´t connect you straight forward to CSC or any other service center but I guess they will have their orders not to do.

So that was the first time we made good experiences with that service number. I guess it depends a lot on what´s the matter of your call and who answers your call.

Another time, quite a while ago when we just started this journey new, PJ had someone on the phone who, I´m sorry we need to say so, who only was an incompetent, unhelpful, unfriendly if not even rude........well................(better I don´t speak out what´s laying on my tongue right now).

So if you have any questions other than just asking "Can you tell me please when we will get approved finally" it´s worth to call them I guess. If you get the wrong person on the line who sounds rude or incompetent to you so just try it a second time. I´m sure there is not only one person answering the phones and some of them might be even willing to understand and to help you. You always will find some "Black sheep" in Call Centers they are not really in the mood to work and better had left their butts at home.

Goodluck

Please clarify something for me.......when you say you called the USCIS.......do you mean the National service center? or the Service Center?

Because if you called the National Service Center, my phone call to her was also extremely helpful and sympathetic to what I was saying. She told me she would contact California and forward my request to them. And she even asked me for all the basic info to be sure they had all the proper info....ie,names addresses, her country,,,etc...etc.... Please let me know who it was you called......thanks
