My wife is Taiwanese and has just received her K-3 multiple entry visa. We have friends in Toronto and want to visit there in 2 weeks. Will we have a problem crossing into Canada from the US since my wife does not have a Canadian visa? Does this K-3 give my wife the same travel privileges as I have or do we have to apply for a tourist visa for her as if she were still in Taiwan?

Yes, as a Taiwanese citizen your wife will require a "Temporary Resident" or visitors visa to visit Canada. The K-3 visa is only applicable for entry to the US and does not confer on her the same status as Permanent Residency or citizenship. Here is the Canadian Government web site that lists the countries requiring visas to enter Canada. On the website menus you will also find the link to print off an application for a Temporary Resident visa (TRV) as a visitor and provide information on how to apply for the visa:
