**EDIT: I hope this is the right place to post this! If not, my post is fully prepared to be moved :D

Hello everyone!

My name is Cristina and I've been reading this forum for a while now. This is my first post, though. I figured it was time for me to stop being a lurker and start being a joiner haha

My main question is about the Lawrence, MA field office. Has anyone interviewed there? I was wondering what your experience was like since I just got my interview appointment NOA today!

Also, after reading a few posts and timelines, I have another question. Is it normal that I received notice for "Initial Interview" before anything else? I mean, I had my biometrics done a week ago, but our I-130 still shows on the website as Initial Review. Some people even got their EADs before the interview, (if I'm not confusing information by now, after reading 7843872 immigration posts) so I'm wondering if my own timeline is a little wonky, giving me something to worry about, or if it's perfectly normal.

It's only been 104 days since I sent in my first form, so I'm pretty happy that we have an interview scheduled already, but I was just wondering!

Thank you in advance for your help/comment!

hey there,

it seems like you are doing fine. though I wonder why you haven't received your EAD first.. Did you send your EAD forms together with your AOS?

good luck with your interview!

Don't worry about the EAD. It sometimes doesn't arrive until after the interview, especially if your case moves quickly through your local office.

My wife got her interview appointment letter before she got the EAD. She finally got the EAD - five days before the interview.

The online case status is frequently not updated. Don't worry about it.

Thanks! It can get a little paranoid when you read way too many posts lol

Keeping my fingers crossed, maybe I'll get the EAD before the interview as well :)

Also, I find the online status updates very unsatisfying. There aren't enough steps, as far as I'm concerned. It's like when someone asks you for the time and you say "it's morning." Sure it's a little helpful, but not very specific lol

You were right! Got email notification yesterday that my EAD is in production, YAY! I should receive it before I go on the interview :)
