It is common for a corner to be missing from the packet.

Is it torn enough to remove anything?

The corners are often clipped, but if you feel the torn is big enough, you can contact the consulate and let them know it was damaged in the transit and they would issue you a new one.

Its not a big deal.

I contact the embassy i talked to two person one of them told me to put my passport with the yellow package and the second one told me that you dont need to send ur passport with the package..dang here is a complicate they dont know what to do ?

do you know how long it will take me to get my package back ?

thanks for replies

Then you need to contact consulate, and probably need to get it repacked by them.

I think that if you got that package almost ripped you must let the embassy know this situation, they must say something about this.

I already talked to the embassy and let them to know that they told me to send it back to us also put a note in it and we will send it back to you in 5 bussines days

but i just worried if it takes more than that ?

No worries, even if it take two weeks to send package back to them and get it back, you will be fine.

It does happen.

It does not take long, depending on your consulate it takes couple days and they repack everything and send out another packet.

I dont know about passport, if you really have to send it back or not.

Thank you so much guys..

I m feeling ok now.I will call consulate again today then i will get more information and i will send the package on tomorrow..The consulate officer told me it will take 5 days but i read from other forms it took few weeks sometimes months then u know there is an expire date to get in to usa..

I hope it wont take that long...

Thank you again bestregards

My wife had issues with the infamous yellow envelope as well. In her case, when she called the consulate’s office they instructed her to bring her envelope and return to the embassy. There was a specific department for this occurrence within the embassy. Therefore, she did not have to wait in a long line. It is far better to have the package re-secured versus take a chance at your POE!
