I just reached my 5 months and sent a request to the office of Senator Bill Nelson. The paperwork submitted was the Consent for Release form and the USCIS accepted I-129F form. Has anyone dealt with his office and the process they went through and with great results?

I will also keep everyone updated as to the process, which in turn would help anyone that wants to contact their congressman.

Any input you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

I did the same thing when I passed 5 months on 3/26 Missouri Senator and Congressman, they still have not got back to me. I also called the USCIS 800 number and right off the bat demanded a 2nd level person. Spoke to the and she put in a SVS request. Last week was a good week for VSC hope this week is strong also. Vanessa and I are both drained from this process.

Good Luck

I am from Oklahoma and have dealt with congressman and senator. No legislative office can help expidite a k-1 visa unless your are 30 days past your five month mark. USCIS will send them a letter stating this. I have to wait until next Friday to hit my six month mark. You are not consider outside of normal processing time until then. But also if your case is with someone who pumps out approvals quickly then it could be sooner.

I spoke to my Senator's office last week. I faxed the authorization form and his immigration rep called me within 30 minutes of sending the fax. She was very helpful and politely said to wait another 30 days and call her back and she would call a contact and see what the status was, blah, blah.

I think this is standard practice. My guess is that the filer will have more luck calling the service number directly.

I submitted a requst to Senator Bill Nelson --his rep told me that I had to wait for about 30 days for a reply . Try contacting Congressman Jeff Miller office --they are very helpful . They had an answer for me in a week . Also Senator Marco Rubio --they had the same answer for me in a week --that my case was sent for expedite and awaiting adjucative processing . Senator Marco Rubio and Congressman Jeff Miller will have my vote any day

Hey, I haven't posted on here before but I'm currently liaising with Sen. Bill Nelson's office. The annoying thing about them is that they correspond via snail mail for *everything* so it's pretty slow. They never seem to return phone calls. All I've gotten from them so far is a standard form letter from the VSC saying they can't do anything until 30 days after the 5 month mark.

Next Monday will be 6 months for me though so I can let you know if they make themselves more useful.

Also FL Congressmen seem to be more responsive in my experience (Daniel Webster is mine)... good luck!

Exact same experience I had with Bill Nelson - a huge zero even after contacting his office on numerous occasions. Mel Martinez (whom I thought might also ne able to help as he himself is an immigrant from Cuba) was the other Florida Senator and while his office did respond (since I darkened their door in person with a visit) it was a complete and total waste of time. Sorry to the original poster but you will get more results by contacting the Department of State who will at least answer procedural questions. If you are in Florida like I am, then you will get no help from your Senators. Sorry.

Uuuuggghhh. I hate to hear that as I am also in Florida. :(

I do have an ace up my sleeve that I will pull out after my 5 months are complete.

I (the petitioner) have moved and will put in an address change after I hit the 5 month mark. I am hoping they will process my file at that time since they have to put it on someones desk to handle the address change.:innocent:
